An Impressive Compilation
If you love Kylie Minogue, as I do, this is a must own DVD. The 2+ hour disc is packed with over 30 videos spanning Kylie's impressive 15+ year career. The DVD also includes a live performance of "Can't Get You Out of My Head." It is hardly her best performance of the song but is just an extra on the disc. The videos are the stars of this DVD. What a treat it is to watch Kylie progress from cute and innocent in "Got to be Certain" and "Locomotion," to hot and sexy in "Red Blooded Woman" and "I Believe in You." Virtually every video is fun, spirited, and will bring a smile to your face. The only exception is "Where the Wild Roses Grow," a critically acclaimed video about a man murdering his lover. Normally, this video would seem out of place. In reality, it is a brilliant masterpiece in itself. This is a wonderful collection and should be owned by every Kylie Minogue fan.

FOR KYLIE FANS
Kylie has evolved from the disco dance favorite to the master diva of tekno-pop. Her transformation has been smooth as silk and as profound as the evolution the Beatles made from A Hard Days' Night to Sgt. Pepper. This collection covers the whole transition. Although I am not a big fan of all her music, the collection has all my favorites from the catchy I Should Be So Lucky, to the most infectuous song since Billy Jean in Can't Get You Out of My Head. The collection serves as a good primer for those not familiar with her catalogue as well. All in all, I had to have it. If you're a fan, it's a must.

Ultimate? Not Quite. But Still Pop Brilliance
Kylie Minogue's re-emergence early in the decade after a couple of poorly received albums in the mid to late nineties seemed to surprise every single critic that had counted the Aussie pop dynamo out, and America seemed even more surprised when she crossed back stateside with the indestructible "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" in 2002. In an attempt to bring her career up to date, another compilation surfaces, with her new millenium output added to her previous stash of Stock Aitken Waterman hits. Thus, ULTIMATE KYLIE takes up not one but two cds, all the more to take maximum advantage of compact disc space, but unfortunately fails to take advantage of the "ultimate" tag on the album title as there are several singles not present. Among the missing in action-"Finer Feeling" and the very underrated "Some Kind Of Bliss"(the best track off the IMPOSSIBLE PRINCESS album and ironically her lowest charting solo single ever). Those two omissions become even more sad when you look at some of what was included(granted they were more successful chartwise)--the dreadful "Tears On My Pillow"(proof that just about anything with Kylie's name on it can eke out a #1 ranking), the almost equally horrid Latin-inspired pastiche "Please Stay", and the "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" clone "Come Into My World". Still, three middling tracks do not a bad album make, and when you consider that "Hand On My Heart", "Step Back In Time", "Spinning Around" and "Slow" are here(just to name four brilliant pop records), the complaints are almost petty. Add to that the inclusion of the very classic-sounding "I Believe In You" and "Giving You Up" and you've got another world class package from one of pop's most enduring icons.

From pop princess to nouveau-disco diva
Living in the US, I've only seen a handful of Kylie's videos. (In fact, 25 of the 31 clips here are new to me.) Therefore, this is a welcome addition to the DVD collection. Here we see Kylie go from '80s pop princess to '90s serious chanteuse (a thankfully brief turn) to nouveau-disco diva of the aughts. This disc is fun from beginning to end, the sound is fine, and most of the video transfers are quite good (although some of the earlier stuff seems a bit washed out). All-in-all an excellent purchase, and the videos coupled with the "Can't Get Blue Monday Out of My Head" performance leave me wanting her live DVDs now.

Buy this cd!
Ultimate Kylie is a great cd with her more popular hits, as not all singles are included on here(Finer feelings, Word is out, Where is the feeling?,If you were with me now,Some kind of bliss, Cowboy Style, and Your disco needs you were some of the singles left off.) But even though it doesn't have all the singles it is still worth buying.I believe in you and giving you up are great songs and are great addtions to the cd. And it's great for US fans to finally be able to hear Where the wild roses grow. Buy this cd!

If you love Kylie, you'll absolutely love this DVD
This DVD is an outstanding video collection of Kylie's greatest hits. From her younger days to the present, she performs so effortlessly throughout all of these videos with the energy, passion, and sensuality that she is well-known for. It would be difficult to name a particular favorite, however, several that come to mind are "Never Too Late", "Better the Devil You Know", "Step Back in Time", "Slow", and "Red Blooded Woman". If you love Kylie, you'll absolutely love this DVD.

I remember roller skating to Locamotion!
I giggle everytime I think about this CD. As a kid I used to remember " Locamotion " coming on every Friday when I went rollerskating. The first cd in the 2 cd set lets you run down memory lane...and then the second cd makes you feel like you could open up a dance club in your own apartment.I enjoy Kylie's music without guilt. I don't feel she is too raunchie or explicit. This cd set was well worth the price.
