Q: Would this be good for dropped octave tuning? Can the strings handle it?

Yes, I tune down to B on a six string and have played as low as A. These strings are made for down tuning as they remain detailed and crisp due to the strength of the fundamental, I don't like to use these unless I'm down tuning because of how detailed they are

heavy gauge with lowered tuneing sound sweet. but u want ypur guitar intonnated to a tuneing u plan kn playing the most or it will suck

I guess it's possible, but why would you want to put these on an acoustic? Also it may not be possible to down-tune with that setup; I think acoustics have heavier strings in general so these would just be a little fat instead of extra heavy.Great strings for the price, however.

Ya they would be good on any guitar, but you'll have to match the string size on it or do a new setup.
