Classic literature via graphic novel
We are new to Carl Bowen, but we became huge fans by the second page. This is another great graphic novel from a classic piece of literature. Lovers of books and reluctant readers alike will enjoy this brilliant graphic novel of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

A worthwhile read
The novel is beautifully illustrated and contains a good narrative-line even as it takes some license with the original plot. I appreciate that it is very conservative in displaying blood and gore (there is none that I can see) even in the violent scenes. Kids may even appreciate this rendition. This novel for me became the subject of a graduate-level paper involving how the reteller adapted the original novel for pop consumer culture and how the adaptation makes an impact on the reader/consumer.

Schoolbook, no substance
The story is ok, and the artwork is better than expected, but the book too small and the story too short. I expected a book but received a school booklet (A5) with questions and answers at the back. It's one of those books that if you would have seen it in a bookshop you would not have bought it.It's just what it should have said clearly, a schoolbook. You can read it in 20 minutes and then answer the questions. If you do need it, shop round for a second-hand copy.
