Q: What size is a medium vs a large

I bought a medium for my petite 8yo daughter. It was HUGE on her. I'm guessing it might fit when she is 10 or 11. I can only assume that the large is even larger.

XXL. My daughter is 4'10" and 88lbs, and the XL fits perfectly. However, you might want to consider buying ladies' sizes.

Deena is correct, “big girls” means beyond 5T, and more into the small = 6/8, medium = 10/12, large = 12/14 type sizes. It’s a way to differentiate when brands market for different ages (babies, toddlers/young girls, older girls, juniors, and adults). The term “big girls” also helps narrow down the search for relevant products for the sizes you’re looking for.
