Jewelers Rouge Polish Gold Silver Jewelry Dialux Rouge Green White and Red -3 Bars by JTS

My husband purchased this 3 bar Dialux set a few years ago to remove light scratches & abrasions from metal watch bands, watch crystals, metal pens & pencils and to “shine” them up. Works very well for him and still uses them today as needed. He uses red the most and really hasn’t used a whole lot so far. A little definitely goes a long way! As far as how to use, he follows some basic rules - red for yellow gold, white for “white metals” (silver, chrome, stainless) and hasn’t used the green bar. As other reviewers commented, there are no instructions or info, just the bars. I want to use these bars to rehab and repurpose some of my silver jewelry pieces, and definitely need a bit more info so I don’t ruin my jewelry. Here’s what I have learned. For jewelry/ metal work, there are 3 stages of polishing: pre-polishing, polishing, and final polishing. Each stage has a particular purpose, uses different compounds, and different applicators. These 3 Dialux bars (red, white, green) are “final” polishing compounds. They are typically used in the last/final polishing stage after all the scratches, nicks, dents, dings, etc have been removed (from pre-polishing and polishing stages) to get that really bright, shiny brand new mirror finish. Rouge (Red) Dialux: is a “final” polishing compound used with yellow gold and silver. Produces very bright shines on silver and yellow gold. Used with soft cloth mops. The Blanc (White) Dialux: is a “final” polishing compound used on Silver, White Gold, and plastics. Produces bright, high finish shine on silver. Use with soft cloth mops. Vert (Green) Dialux: is a “final” polishing compound used on hard metals only - platinum, titanium, chrome, chrome cobalt, stainless steel, hard steel. Use with soft cloth mops. As far as the product itself - I used red for both “polishing” and “final” polishing. It sticks to the applicators very well and is not dry or powdery. I used as a polishing compound with hard felt applicator, with a dremel at low speed. And then I used it as a “final” polishing compound using a soft mop with a dremel on low speed. It worked very well and I was very happy with the results - the metal was smooth, bright and shiny like new. A little definitely goes a long way, so these bars will last a long time for hobby use.

The only problem I have with these is that they don’t tell you when each one should be used so I’m switching to the 3M 3” discs because at least they tell you when to use each one and I don’t need a new wheel for each one

They are ok. Super small bars depending on what you are using them for they may be perfect. I don't feel they work as well as other brands not upset with purchase just won't buy again

Fine edge polishing kit. Pocket knife (lineman pocket knife) has a edge to shave my forearm clean in 2 strokes.

Helped me restore a beautiful but neglected old miners lamp from a dull black and tarnished mess into a wonderfully bright and shiny example of an old Davey Lamp. Both the brass and the steel came up to a bright shine without damage that other cutting compound or pastes left such as swirls
