Good sound, but a bit quiet.
I'm a streamer, so good audio is important to what I do. These have it, absolutely. Nice and clear, crisp and well defined. The headphones are reasonably comfortable, too, if a little bit awkward. I expect I'll adjust to that; there's always an adjustment period with new headphones. Only issue is that they're very quiet. Part of that is going from isolation headphones to ones that don't cut out all external sound. But even factoring that, they're quiet compared to my old headphones. Not really a problem, though, since I tend to keep everything turned down anyway.

sounded pretty good, loving it
My first pair of Audio Technica, suddenly I'm a fan, sounded pretty good, good bass response. loving it... good built, no squeak when put it on or taking off, comftable, light. good price.. considering these are not one of audiophile headphones, but I think they are awesome. I use them for gaming and listening to music. Edited: The headband didn't extend for enough for my liking, I took em apart loosing up the springs, it was a pain to do so, but well worth it. and then changed new Brainwavz earpads, this headphones is now the most comfortable ever, I can wear it all day.

Delightful!
Hello reader; I assume a fellow music -lover; Hope you're doing well today; I'm a 61 year old guy from New England and this is a review of my new Audio-Technica ATH-AVC400 SonicPro Over-Ear Headphones that I received from Amazon yesterday as a replacement to my Edifier H850 that served me very well for a year, but just recently the stem of the right earcup started to crumble(brittle plastic), hope these lines will help you making the right purchasing decision. well these headphones are simply delightfulAsDIO would say: Holy diver! I'll be honest, I'm not a strict audiophile purist who doesn't accept anything but a laser- straight frequency-curve from 20 to 20000 Hz, I do enjoy a little V-ish sound so most of the time I need headphones for YouTube music videos, the signal goes through my Logitech Computer speaker system that has a standard 3.5mm stereo female jack on the right speaker, on my Windows10 Sound settings I have the Enhancements/ Equalizer preset set to Rock, plus I added a pinch of extra treble at 8 and 16 kHz to my liking, and I saved it as [Rock XT] extra treble this way I really enjoy the sound on all music styles from Alan Parsons through Joe Satriani to Pet Shop Boys,+Welcome to the Pleasuredome by FGTH and let me tell you these AT headphones do a fantastic job, you don't have to turn the volume up high , even on moderate volume they sound so energetic, substantial across the whole frequency spectrum ; so pleasant quite an improvement over the otherwise excellent Edifier (BTW those are not available from Amazon Anymore). although the H850s had better isolation; through the AT I could hear my wife using the hand mixer in the kitchen I believe these are designed to be semi-open back for better bass response. So far I haven't gotten any complaints from my wife who is sitting right next to me playing on her own PC no sound leakage. the other thing is they do feel quite warm on my ears at 1 hour of use it's summer, hot and humid here in New England, the fan is spinning above me, but the sound quality is worth it one personal issue that I hope you don't have to worry about is: my left side is paralyzed due to a stroke 10 years ago, so I can only use my right hand to put them on/ take them off , and that was easier with my Edifier- and earlier my Koss Porta pro. anyway, this was my review, hope it was helpful go and get these! signing off: zocsy. Thanks for reading, take care!

Big bang for the buck!!!
I was skeptical to order a lower priced set of headphones. But Audio Technica delivered great sound at a reasonable price. Vinyl sounds great through these. Glad I took a shot on these.

With the faux leather ear pads.. things get hot.
It's a decent pair of headphones as far as weight goes. It also has a self adjusting headband which is a plus. The 2 things that make these 3 stars for me, is the cord while flexible, you can't swap it out if it develops a short. As anyone can tell you with headphones, what normally happens? cord is normally the first thing to go b/c it develops a short somewhere along the cable. So this is annoying. The other thing that gets me is the faux leather ear pads... as I've used more headphones, I've come to realize what I appreciate more-WHAT works better. The leather ear pads, while they do cover my ears just fine. They are too hot. As far as I can tell, I can't even buy a different set of ear cushions... ? The sound quality ironically enough does seem to be better than my 'Philips Fidelio X2HR', which honestly surprised me. I guess it's the "sharpness" of the audio, it just seems slightly better. For the price, it's an "ok" pair of headphones. But it could be a lot better with a couple of tweaks. *UPDATE* Dec 27 2023 I wanted to give an update on these headphones. The "Wrap" around the cord, leading to the headphones, the junction right where the cord goes into the headphones. That "extra" wrap around the cord, developed a split... and not too long afterwords, the headphones developed a electrical or grounding "short" of some sort. I've only owned these headphones for slightly over a year. (1 year and 5 months roughly). I've taken care of these headphones, to the best of my ability. Even modded the earphones with upgraded material... & so it's a real bummer to deal with this.

Sounds like earpds playing through a cardboard tube
I tried to live with these, really did. Even after breaking in, the middle range sound was just so overwhelming. In addition to this, they sound very hollow, almost like you're trying to listen to a concert through a sewer pipe. I ended up returning. I recommend the Koss PortaPros, which sound quite good for the $40 price point, and without the echo.

I wanted these as flat response monitors for my guitar late at night. Great Bass (too much for me) and good quality parts and consideration feels good in the hands. Only thing I don't like is the cord isn't detachable.

I'm really happy with them. They are the best over-ear headphones I've ever used. For the price they sound excellent. Sound: They aren't audiophile headphones but their sound is great to me. They are loud and sound very clear but aren't 100% natural of course because of the bass. But no matter what volume you are in they very powerful and accurate. I've used them for movies, games and music and they sound perfect. Their bass is really strong and is not muddy at all. It is very bold and deep and powerful. Those 53 mm drivers surely come in handy. Treble is also balanced with clarity and bass. They are especially powerful when watching movies. Movies with these headphones is like being in a theater. Loud, clear sound with very powerful and deep bass. For music and games they sound like normal and clean/clear sounding headphones that can produce a high amount of bass. Overall, they are perfect sounding headphones for the price if you are just going to use them for personal use. They sound tons and miles better than Beats or any other expensive headphones I've used. Build Quality: They are made of really strong materials while being reasonably light. Plastic and no metal, yes but the materials are not cheap and they are very durable and feel that way. It's made very thick and smooth plastic. The cushioning of the headband is very soft and feels premium. It seems to be made out of a spongy material and covered with black fabric cloth which is very good for your head. The ear pad cushions are large but go over my ears. They are also soft although at first they hurt my ears because I wasn't used to them. Now that I'm used to them they are very comfortable and I can use them for hours. If you are used to wearing smaller headphones it will take a short amount for you to get used to them as well. Overall their build quality feels premium for their cheap price and they will not break easily. ~Conclusion I'm satisfied with them and I highly recommend these. Both price and build quality are great while they sound so much better than popular and expensive headphones such as Beats, Bose etc. In my opinion these are also better than the ATH-M20X. The only flaws are that they have a very long 3m wire, no microphone and they are large. But other than that they are excellent and they deserve a 5 star.

Its a great low budget headset but if wear it for 2-3 hours ur ears will get a bit sweaty but i like how you don’t need to adjust the headset to wear it, it got good noise cancellation so u won’t really hear anything outside, over a really good low budget headset. I would recommend Y’all to buy a warranty with it, it would really help cuz u never know right ?
