Incredible Resource
In good, barely used condition as stated. Will be a great resource for me at work.

Very informative without having to sift through anything unnecessary
I had to purchase this book for school (I am pursing a Master's in Non Profit Management) and like most students, I dread the text books I usually have to purchase. But this one is really different. I love the layout, the information is clear and concise without having to wade through dense pages and pages of nonsense to get to the "meat" of the topic at hand. This may actually be one that I keep for my career once the semester is over, and that is saying alot!

Dry read but if you are in non-profit government, especially municipality such as city work, it is a gem. Going to admit, this thing is gold for me in my career now with my city.

Good information, poor printing design
This book was a required textbook for a strategic planning class at the doctoral level. It does contain good information that I found valuable, but it is difficult to use. The book is not written in a typical textbook manner or a in a way that makes it easy to follow. Reading the book is a task in itself and is not helpful to the student who is trying to use the book as a resource. Hopefully with the next edition the publisher will change the layout so that this book can be the resource for students that it should be.

Typical textbook reading
This textbook is pretty much typical among university/graduate studies. It is over 500 pages thick, filled with excessively complex diagrams and flowcharts, vast chapters, and detailed citations for further reading. Like most textbook authors, Bryson drones on about nothing in particular, taking hundreds of pages to say what could have been described simply in a few pages. Strategic planning is little more than thinking about what problems face your organization, coming up with solutions, and finding ways to test and apply them.Unfortunately, even though I just summed up the book for you, this is a textbook and if you're searching for it it is likely required reading for a graduate course. Get it as cheaply as possible, or borrow it if you can.

Four Stars
A wonderful resource, but way to complex for small organizations.
