Great stuff to add to the routine. I use the navage machine, water with a nielmed packet. 3 cap full of this solution and works great. It gets the stuff out that a simple saline packet cannot. My nasal passages feel so clean after this. Definitely recommend.

I usually don't write reviews but this product improved my quality of life enough that I felt compelled to share my results. Late November/early December every year my sinuses stop up like clockwork and everyone knows how miserable that is. It's not allergy related either so those meds don't help. Over the years I have used saline rinses which do help somewhat but not to the degree I would like. A colleague recommended Alkalol to me and it has made a noticeable difference from using just saline rinses. Everyone uses different methods and products but here is what works for me. I use a hand held battery powered rinser from itherau that is available on Amazon at a reasonable cost. It's the kind that you hold up to one nostril and the gunk flows out of the other. It has 3 different settings depending on how strong you want the flow to be. I use it in the shower so I don't have to worry about the mess or holding my head over the sink at a weird angle. I use 8 ounces of warm distilled water, one saline packet, and two teaspoons of alkalol per rinse. I rinse one side and then repeat the process with the other nostril. I have the second 8 oz. mixture ready to go so i don't have to stop the shower and fix up another mixture. I just pour it into the empty itherau and do the second rinse.The itherau holds about 10oz. so that's how I have to do it. The extra amount of mucous it was washing out compared to just the saline rinse was instantly noticeable. When i first received the alkalol I did this twice a day. Once in the morning and then again about an hour before bedtime. I did this for 3 days but now only have to do it once a day in the evening because the results have been so positive. It has been a game changer for me. I can breathe freely and the biggest plus has been that i can finally get a good nights sleep which is crucial. After just a couple of days my wife even noticed how much more soundly I was sleeping without having to constantly get up to blow my nose or be snorting and sniffling all night which affected her sleep too so she is a big fan also. Sleeping in a separate room was on the table so I'm really glad this product has worked for me and i hope if you use it you will get some relief too. Please use distilled or previously boiled water because you do not want any extra germs or bacteria being shot into your sinuses. Using warm water helps loosen the mucous too not to mention how uncomfortable it is to shoot cold water up your nose! You can adjust the amount of alkalol to your liking too. The 2 teaspoons per 8oz. of water that I use is considered the medium dose and has worked well for me. Everyone has their own definition of affordable but three 16oz. bottles for $20 seemed very reasonable to me considering the relief it has given me and how little you have to use for it to be effective. This is decent, but only dissolves mucus directly in the nose and not in the mid sinus. The dissolved mucus pools up in places that the navage can not get to. In fairness I have a lot of mucus from damaging my lymph tissue in the nose so maybe it's best for people that just have allergies and not so much for me. I do like how it feels directly in the nose. Prior to this I used diluted Listerine in saline water which does dissolve mucus a little better for me but it contains salicylic acid that irritates the wounds so I was hoping this would be a better alternative.Update: Changing from 4 to 5 starts. In fairness after using this for some time it has reduced inflammation around the mucosal tissue allowing more mucus to be extracted, reducing overall mucus production and improving the ratio of mucus to blood. This solution has improved my condition more in one week than anything else has in several weeks.

I've had problematic sinus issues for the last 30 years, with very little time between having one issue or another. Then someone recommended Alkalol for use with my Neilmed nasal rinse. I started out using it pretty mildly because it smells very strong and gives you a very intense tingle. For me, I just wanted to build up over time to become more used to a higher dose. Think a very good menthol cough drop and how that opens you up.However, in 2020 I knew I had to step up the treatment to a daily thing for the health of my sinuses and to eliminate any contamination that might be there. After about a month and even during spring allergies, I noted that I was having very few issues anymore. Everything stayed clear. After about 2 months, I realized one day that I hadn't even been stuffy in the last month. My ENT said that if everyone kept their nasal passages as clean as mine, he'd be out of business.Alkalol just does a better job of breaking up mucus and doing a good scrub on the nasal passages than regular saline. Clean means nothing catches, what's there is washed out, and I've stay feeling better. What's more, I even went through fall hayfever time without having any sinus headaches and no infection. That's a first for me since about 1990. I will say however, that I did bump up the Alkalol rinse to 3 times a day on any day that I'd been outside.

This stuff is amazing...i started off with 1/2 capful because the description says its strong...Didn't really notice any difference when added with my plain salt water...i'm now adding 2 capfuls and I am amazed at the amount of mucus that comes out of my sinuses...I didn't have that result using plain salt water..So far i'm happy with this and will definitely be ordering more!
