For the price, this can't be beat.
In preparation for a 5 day North Cascades backcountry trip, I needed a new lightweight tent for 2 people. My requirements were <5 lbs (including stakes and footprint), small packed dimensions, excellent ventilation and good waterproofness. I didn't want to break the bank on name brand stuff, so I rounded up the best Amazon options, and this one won out. Upon arrival, this tent satisfied my first two requirements, coming in right at ~5 lbs (if you throw away some of the stuff sacks), and much smaller than other similar tents I've had in the past. The other two requirements would have to wait for the trip to verify...After 5 days in the humid Washington wilderness, this tent proved to be both very breathable and waterproof. We experienced two nights of pretty heavy rain and the tent managed to keep everything underneath it dry, even after being put away wet the night before. Additionally, the tent also didn't show any signs of condensation underneath the rainfly during some of the colder nights (~40 F). For one night, we ended up having 3 people in this tent, and while it was a bit cramped, we all fit fine, and this tent seems to have a good deal more room than most "3-person" tents I've used in the past. All in all, this tent held up great. That said, there are a few issues that were encountered. First, the included footprint seems a little too big for the tent itself, meaning that the corners of the rainfly had to be carefully adjusted to ensure rain didn't fall onto parts of the footprint that extended out from under the tent. In mild rain, this probably wouldn't be an issue, but if wind is involved, rain might be able to make its way under the tent. Second, the poles (being all connected together by elastic cord) were a bit of a challenge to set up with one person, and the tips that fit into the tent grommets sometimes disconnected from the poles while breaking down the tent. Lastly, the floor of the tent seemed rather thin, and I imagine that heavy use would likely cause tearing in short order if care is not used. That said, all of these are minor concerns. The footprint oversize can easily be fixed with some duct tape in a pinch, as can the pole tips, and the thin floor is likely just a compromise of making a tent of such a light weight. All in all, I was very impressed with the tent's quality, weight, price and weatherproofness and firmly believe this is the best hiking tent you can buy in this price range. I would buy this again in a heartbeat and would recommend this brand to anybody else looking for a tent on the cheap!

Top-notch!! I Love this tent!!!
This tent has pretty much all of the bells and whistles of the very expensive UL tent options at a fraction of the price. I don't buy into the ridiculously lightweight trends for backpacking. I prefer to have a 2-3 person tent in order to have plenty of space for me and my gear without feeling cramped. This tent is the lightest 2-3 person tent that I found. And, I believe it to be the lightest such tent on Amazon. It's ridiculously easy to set up. It even comes with its own footprint. Since most tents don't, figure in the cost of a separate footprint in order to compare apples to apples with price. If you're really using it for 2 people, it does only have one vestibule and entry/exit. But, I've already used this tent a couple of times. It rained a couple of times. No condensation---nothing. I was completely dry. You can add multiple lines to really spread out the fly if you want. I did that with the first use at Shades State Park in Indiana (2 night stay with one night of some rain). And, for the other use when I camped for 4 nights (with one night of pretty heavy rain), I used the minimum number of lines to secure the fly. The tent was so secure with absolutely no issues. It is very lightweight for a 2-3 person tent. I prefer to have the little bit of extra weight with a more secure tent and plenty of space, especially for the price, as opposed to trying to one-up other backpackers with the lightest possible one-person tent available (that costs at least 3 times the price). For me, I can go ultra lightweight in so many other ways. But, I am not skimping on my tent. If I decide to thru-hike the entire PCT or CDT, I might consider a one-person UL backpacking tent (for at least 3 times the price of this tent, incl having to buy a separate footprint and pay to also seal the seams). But, until then, this tent is plenty light, especially considering the extra space and the solid stability and ready-to-go waterproof protection. This tent is top-notch.I love this tent!!!!!!

Cloud 3 - Meets & beats expectations - beyond an excellent value
Product: Cloud 3 man 20D Nylon tent (being used by 2 people)I am not prone to writing extensive reviews; however in this case it is warranted. We are outfitting ourselves for a half dozen backcountry trips (3-7days) this summer and I agonized over replacing my ultralight Kelty 2 man (steadfast, light and durable). It feels like I have looked at every tent on the market and been in and out of MEC & Atmosphere too many times trying to compare them. When it came right down to it, I just couldn't justify the prices of the MEC, MSR, North Face etc... brands so I took a flyer on this one ($255 at the time).Overall I am impressed - I went back and bought a second one actually. We have been testing it for a week in the yard - sleeping in it 4 nights, wind and lots of garden hose water & rain. I has performed without issue - we are out on our first 2 night trip in a few weeks and am confident it will perform.Set up is best done at home once (instructions? what instructions hence the 1 star knock) to get the hang of things. We have it down to under 5 minutes including staking it out. The fly, even under water pressure, stays well away from the tent itself and we have had no moisture wicking issues etc... The dome is fully screened providing plenty of ventilation. The material is slick - to the point it was almost hard to roll back up lol. The ground sheet will be something I use regardless just to ensure there is no damage to the tent floor. The zippers decent and there is one point on the door where pegging pressure could be an issue, however a little attention should mitigate this (a prior review noted them; I concur it's worth taking some care while using them).Other observations: there are four small storage pouch on the inside along with a single S hook at the front; the lash points on the tent have a reflective stripe although the cord itself is not; front and back vent openings are nice; vestibule: you can get boots under there, but not 3 packs.Weight: for those interested the tent kit came in at 1,990 grams and the tent kit + ground mat at 2,310 grams. Breakdown: poles 602g, tent 595g, fly 560g, ground mat 320g, pegs & cord 155g (pegs are 9g/pc).I realize everyone's experience will be different; however IMHO this tent is a great place to start if you are outfitting for backpacking. It is well priced, light, roomy and well made - hitting all my high notes.

A limite ci aggiorniamo. Dimenticavo e la mia prima tenda.
