I bought this to use in my garage / shop area to provide a dedicated hose at my workbench so I didn't have to go unravel the hose from the rack of my old wall mounted Hoover garage vacuum. I have this longer hose routed along the wall near the ceiling above my wall storage area and only need to swap out which hose in inserted into the garage vac suction port to have a convenient vacuums at my workbench. Because the nozzle on this hose is larger than the opening of the vacuum suction port, I had to use the straight portion of a PVC kitchen drain tailpipe as an interface piece. This is not a flaw of the hose but just something I am noting for others that may want to use this pool vac hose with an old Hoover garage vac. Hose does what I wanted and at a lower price than a purpose built garage vac hose.

Works well for my application. I cut off one of the ends with a hack saw and bought a pvc 1 1/2" barbed fitting on one side and 1 1/2" male threaded on the other side. It was not easy getting the barbed fitting into the hose, but with some force I was able to get it in and added a hose clamp now it is watertight. The shop vac I use is a harbor freight Bauer 14G. This allowed me to connect the hose to the end of my shop vac with a few additional pvc pieces. I can drain 3/4 of the water in my 75G fish tank in about a minute. It works great and no leaks. One thing to note I did have some blow back out of the top of the shop vac, but I fixed that by adding an additional hose to it to keep the water contained. Saves me hours!
