Truvativ Trushift Chainring 44t 104 BCD 8/9/10/11-Speed Steel Black V4 RD MTB

Just giving middle of the road review. Part looked okay but was very very very heavy for a replacement chainring on my bike. My bike is 20 yrs old and was top of the line in its day but the chainring I took off weighed 2.4 ounces and this replacement chainring weighed 5.7 ounces. I figured new would be lighter but definitely not the case. Returned and ordered a different one that’s probably as light as the one that came on the bike.

I wanted to increase the 40 T chain ring to a 48 T and found most priced at $70.00 or more. I found this one on Amazon and bought it. My LBS installed it along with a longer chain and I'm off. I doubt many bike riders look for chain rings on the Amazon forum but I have found parts here very reasonable. Try and find a 48T 104BCM ring at the bike shop. Good luck. Mine was delivered in about 24 hours.

Well worth the weight penalty over aluminium in return for a much longer life. I've just bought my second one, from Amazon (the first was from elsewhere). The first one lasted 4½ years and 9500 miles (15,200 km), whereas one winter is enough to destroy an aluminium one, cycling on an all-weather Sustrans cycle track (lots of grit and muck in the wet). I use another bike in dry weather, so this one has seen 9500 miles of mostly wet British weather. At 174g it's almost exactly twice the weight of an equivalent Shimano 44T 104mm BCD Deore LX ring. Contrary to the description, it is definitely an outer ring, not an inner. It comes fitted with the chain-catching pin that you'd only get on an outer ring, and the Truvativ logo facing outwards. The old steel one didn't rust.

These chain rings are made of pressed steel so they don't have the same quality feel as a machined alloy part and of course because they are steel they are heavier. That said hopefully they will be longer lasting on my hybrid where i'm pulling loads on a trailer/carrying shopping etc. I would have expected them to be cheaper than machined alloy parts but actually they cost more hence only the three stars

Sie halten bei unserer Fahrweise.---ganzjährig, außer Schnee und Glatteis bei jedem Wetter,---eher unregelmäßige Pflege---je etwa 5000-7000km im Jahretwa ein Jahr, dann werden sie gewechselt.Sie halten länger als andere Blätter, die ich probiert habe, so daß ich bei diesem Modell bleiben werde.
