A good set of lights at a reasonable price.
I need these lights to illuminate my desk when I am making presentation videos or on online calls. They are lightweight but sturdy, they have good positional ability and the screw fixings are strong and hold the position well. The remote control offers easy adjustment and the filter sheets add to the contrasts available when setting up the view to the audience. All round a worthwhile purchase which I would recommend to the amateur (or professional) broadcaster who is looking to enhance their picture on screen

Prime time for WFH
I was concerned that these were too bright after reading others reviews. If you have a poor quality webcam then they will feel too bright. However, couple these lights with a high quality webcam & boom ; they are very good indeed ! The remote control is a great touch & I really like the different coloured filters. The mounting arms are ideal too. For reference I went from a Campark webcam (cheap but not the best) to a Logitech Brio (pricey but worth it because MS Teams will soon be 4K friendly). The I former struggled with over exposure. The Brio lapped up the extra lumens with ease :-)

Decently bright lights with even coverage for a budget price. Need diffusing for headshots.
The lights themselves are well worth the budget price for this product set. They output a very even non-flickering light that is exceptionally bright at its highest output setting. If you’re using these for product shots, they will work straight out of the box with perfect adjustment of the scissor arms to get in close to the subject. I intended also to use these for shooting myself on YouTube and streaming. For this, you will be looking to soften the light with a diffuser or soft box. There doesn’t appear to be a specific soft box that fits this model, but Neewer do sell for more premium lights in their range that can be adapted to fit with some alterations. I altered some older soft boxes made for halogen lights to meet my needs. There is a thumb screw on the scissor arm attachment that clamps onto the desktop. This could’ve been made better by having a complete hole that the thumbscrew thread could pass through and bite into the shaft of the scissor arm. Instead, it compresses the metal against the shaft and has a tendency to spin and cross-thread when over tightening. This is a non-issue if you desktop mount he scissor arms, however if you wish to mount inverted from an overhead shelf or other clamping point, you may find the shaft comes out of the clamping point when adjusting. This can be easily fixed by drilling out the hole to allow more of a ‘bite’.The remote control is useful and easy to setup with button presses on the back of the lights to decide which channel you want each of the lights on. The brightness and warmth of the lights can be adjusted here as well as on/off switch and a series of stepped setting buttons, such as 30% brightness. The build of the lights is pretty cheap and feels that way with the plastic bodies used, but this expected for the value and price point. The scissor arms action are solid, but some of the screw tightening points for the swivel action of the light fitting can get loose when adjusting too much. You will find that you will be tightening and retightening a fair bit when moving the lights into your desired position. Again, expected at this low price and slightly annoying but not a reason to pass on a purchase.I am happy with this purchase and it has made lighting a small studio space for photography and video without huge lights and tripods taking up valuable room.

Great for video conferencing
I needed better lighting for video conferencing. Originally, I'd tried a basic light with a manual button and a suction attachment for my screen which failed miserably.. These were marginally more expensive for 2 lights, which also were remote controlled AND brighter. The instructions say that you should put each of the panels on different channels (ch1 or ch2). However, as I'm using them together for most of the time, I have them on a single channel. Additionally, I've added a Broadlink to my setup and "learned" the codes, so I can now control my lights via my home automation, HomeKit and Touch Portal.

Item delivered faulty - difficult to organise a replacement part
Item came delivered fine. Installed all the arms and run cables only to find one lamp would not turn on. Contacted customer service after some swapping over of power packs to check it was lamp faulty. They would not send a replacement part - they would only allow me to return all the items together and receive a refund or a switch - both of which would have not been quick enough for what i needed them for. In the end, i opened the faulty one up and the cables were not soldered on the board, at all, i mean no bare cable or anything - as if they had just missed that bit of assembly. Soldered it myself and works ok, but still very disappointed in the QC and Neewer's inability to sort it quickly with just a replacement lamp... it would have been a nightmare to pull all the arms and cables out of the office set up again just to return the lamp.

No reflection in my glasses for video calls.
These lights are great and work well. Due to wearing glasses a ring light wasn’t a good idea for lighting online video calls. I have this at the back of my desk facing the ceiling to light in such a way as to avoid a reflection in my glasses. One on its own has been enough as it it bright enough. The remote control works well and means I can switch it on during video calls easily and change brightness or from the white light to warm white. Really pleased with my purchase.
