Soft and supple
I bought this leather to make a custom sheath for an unusually shaped knife and it worked perfectly for the job. I used an awl to punch the holes I sewed through and sinew in a large needle to sew it up.There is a decent amount of leather in this piece and I have plenty more for other projects. The color and thickness of the leather are consistent throughout the piece and it is very high quality. I would definitely use this company again if I decide to make leather wearables.

Real leather, great quality, durable, consistent finish and texture
This is a very good quality piece of leather: The outside finish is smooth and consistently textured, and the inside finish is soft. This leather is and strong, cuts easily with sharp scissors. I was able to punch holes in it easily. It stitches easily with waxed thread. It holds metal rivets well. I made a 10" x 6" x 2" belt-mounted pouch that held up during all day use.The thickness of this leather is best suited for upholstering things or for small leather pouches. This is thin enough but durable that it would conform really well for seat cushions and similar use. This leather is not ideal for larger pouches or bags that require more structure or thicker leather.Overall this is a great product of great quality.

Great product
I purchased the smaller patch but was just barley too small so i ordered the bugger one. The quality was great for both items and the color was a great red. Used it to refinish an old stool and it was nice to work with. As stated some section were thicker than others but non of it was super thin. Great product and worth the price for sure.

12" x 24" is perfect amount to re-upholster executive size leather desk chair arm rests
The leather piece I needed mine for is for an executive size office chair (12" x 24" cut) as I needed 6" x 12" for each arm rest. I just folded this piece in half and cut evenly in half. The rectangular shape you receive is a bit more than 12" wide, but is 24" in length. No worries that the piece you get is unusual cuts or anything. Just a straight 12" x 24" piece is what you'll get. but I understand the concern, as I thought the same thing. The leather smells and feels like genuine leather. It's not too thick and not too thin. I have a photo of what I was replacing it with. The old is on the left side and the new piece of leather is on the right in one of the later photos. It appears to be almost a millimeter more in thickness. However, due to the age of my old arm rest's leather, wearing down and shrinking from usage, it may have been the same as the new leather's thickness. The leather is not so thick that it isn't pliable enough to wrap-fold the rounded edges of the arm rests, it is firm but bendable to not leave fold marks too much. Being my first time, that was the most difficult part. I also use the scrap piece of trim for the underside of the arm rest from the old arm rests to keep it stable and hopefully durable. It worked, it's really strong and aestethically pleasing having a beaded edge look to it as it was before. Each photo has different lighting, night time when I was done and how it appears in tghe day's blue hue lighting so you could see the leather's color and sheen. The leather's sheen does match the unworn cushioned back side of my desk chair. These photos were taken before I got all the duct tape off and the leftover duct tape's glue residue that I hadn't cleaned off yet when I took these photos.Today is February 10, 2023 and the job has been done and in use for 8 days so far. Since reupholstering and cleaning the rest of the duct tape's glue residue, it's back to almost new looking again. The important part is folding over the rounded edges if redoing the leather covers on the arm rests and making sure you use the right size staples with stapler. I used a Stanley ProSharpShooter stapler and half inch/12mm staples, when I could have used 3/8" even 5/16" to staple the leather onto the arm rest internal boards. I just pounded them down with a hammer and checked to make sure they were stapled in firmly and not loose. My suggestion, just make sure to check for any welt impressions from misaligned padding or in need of a bit of padding, or staples, wood, etc., etc. on the exposed top part you're covering before stapling down your new leather. I do have one spot on my left arm rest with a bump, not sure what it is though, but the padding must have been worn. Hopefully this company will be around if it happens to wear down and come through. This as good as it gets though, for less than $20, and not having to buy some really expensive-not so good of materials type of desk chair they're out there selling now (but I do have an extra new desk chair now that I bought a new one from Amazon as I thought of this restore project AFTERWARDS haha)All in all, I'm glad I found this company on Amazon and was able to get the exact size I needed without wasting a bunch of leather, if it had been too large for my project. It turned out great and will last who know how many more years, maybe 5, 10 years? Thanks, Reed Leathers Hides. Now there's one less thing in the landfill and getting more use out of a completely perfect desk chair. I fully recommend this Amazon seller ✪✰✪✰✪

A VERY GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY
I have bought this leather panel a few times over in the last four or five years, and will probably buy another one soon; it's a darned good value for the money, and I have used it for so many projects, including repairs and such. Durable, and easy to work with -- just combine it with a stitch-awl and some imagination.

Nice leather
What you SHOULD EXPECT!!!!First: this is real GENUINE cowhide leather. Other reviews that claim otherwise do NOT know the differences of leathers or what they're talking about.LEATHER 1012nd: Know what square feet is vs inches and yards. Not that hard to Google if you're not sure. When you buy by the sq ft (hide or half hide) it will be IRREGULAR in shape (that of the actual cow, thus hide 🙄). It will NOT come squared. For that you order pieces that come in inches 12"x24"...Hides have natural blemishes. This includes but not limited to a hole or 2, a few wrinkles towards the edges and a variation in thickness usually thinning towards the edges. You should expect this! Also, colors vary per monitors, phones, tablets so will not be exact. Color is similar to those pictured.3RD: These are very nice, soft handed/drape, sueded backsided, hides. I found the color to be close to that pictured. I am happy with my purchase and will be buying more.
