I never write reviews, but I just had to do it for this one for two reasons:1) to prove you can use this for other things than stuffed animals2) to say this product is amazing and I'm not sure where the negative reviews are coming fromFirst, is it flimsy? Not if you screw it into the wall. I am a not so handy mom with a simple drill and I did fine but it did take an hour to assemble.Completely worth it! I never knew how I would contain these blocks my husband bought our son and this does it!!

Giving a 5 star review because I think this product is underrated. Yes. It’s expensive. But this has been in my 6 year old boy’s room for over a year and he literally climbs on it and jumps inside and it is still intact. The base is wood not plastic which is way more durable. Also, he wrote all over it with markers so I was able to paint it and make it look like this. The plastic bars that go over the bungee cords will bend... you don’t need them. We like our Zoo with them off. My husband said it was annoying to assemble but obviously doable.

I can’t even find ONE star to give in any category. This has to be THE biggest waste of money I have ever spent. I’m actually embarrassed that I spent even a dollar on it let alone over a hundred dollars. The wood is cheap and flimsy. The screws it came with aren't the same ones pictured in the awful directions. They were flat and obviously couldn’t even go into the wood. I had to go to Lowe’s to purchase screws that would go into the wood. I put one whole side together and when I flipped it over, pieces fell out! I ended up having to gorilla glue it just to secure it together. So after 2 days of waiting for the glue to dry (I did one side at a time), it was time to put the bungees on - guess what?! The plastic bungee covers were too long and didn’t fit between the screw eyes that were on the top to the middle and the middle to the bottom. The ONLY reason I kept it was because I figured after I glued it, it MAY be worth something but, nope! It’s really a piece of garbage and I wish I sent it back prior to wasting my time going to buy the right screws! OH! And the back is COMPLETELY open, which would be fine cause it’s going against a wall BUT the space between the wall and the product is too large due to the base board heating I have. Do not buy this! (Unless you like wasting money)

I love the stuffed animal zoo however it's not very sturdy if you want it to stand alone and not attach to the wall. I also thought it was going to be a little taller but that's my fault for not reading the measurements. The wood is very smooth and can even probably be painted if you want to do so. I like the fact that you can put the zoo logo plaque on yourself so you can put it wherever you would like. The bungee cords are hidden by plastic tubes so that is good as well. Another thing that I didn't like was it has nothing on the bottom so the toys are touching the floor. I wish it had like a bottom rack or something to stop them from just sitting on the floor. All in all I think this was a very good purchase.Price could be a little cheaper but still a good purchase.

This item is exactly what I was looking for to hold my son's stuffed animals. He has a connection with each one and wants them close by, however they were taking over shelf and bed space. The Zoo arrived in three days in a tall slim box. It took me just one hour to put together. The instructions are clear and once you see the pieces it's really self-explanatory. The wood is smooth and light, with The Zoo carved on the top.The bars are elastic cording with wood-like plastic tubes that slip over the cording. These are not bungee cords, which is a dangerous idea to have around young children. Once fit together, I carried it upstairs to my son's room and fastened it against the wall with the screw and wooden spacers that were included.I trimmed off the extra cording, you want the bars to be tight but not so inflexible that you can't get the animals out. After that my son started tossing his animals over the open top and into their 'cage.' I was amazed how much space was freed up by having these toys in their own space. In the past, regardless of how I organized them on bed and shelf, at the end of the day they were strewn about everywhere. Now my son, on his own, chooses which one to sleep with at night and when he wants a particular one we know just where it is. It is easy to get them out and to toss them back in.We found this to be exactly what we needed. It is very well made, smooth, safe wood, and according to the designers web page, part of the proceeds is helping to build a baby elephant sanctuary in Africa. We ended up with a beautiful, functional and fun, stuffed animal 'Zoo' and helped support an elephant sanctuary. Whatever could possibly be wrong about that? A win-win for all involved. This product was much more difficult to put together than it should have been. Even my husband had some difficulty as you had to muscle the screws in using a lot of force and trying not to Crack the thin wood. It is also way too small. We needed one 3 to 4 times as big. My kid has around 1,000 stuffed animals this fits Maybe 100 or so :( it's also not very sturdy one put together. I feel for the amount of time I spent painting and assembling it I should have just built my own with better wood.
