Surprisingly good
This is the third cheap webcam that I tried in the last week and is the one I am going to keep. The picture quality is pretty good. For all cameras, I'm seeing that low light degrades the quality more than anything so, whatever camera you use, pay attention to getting that right.Things I like:- higher resolution (1440p) is nice to have.- worked right away when plugged in. Works with Skype, Stream, Windows Camera, Zoom, etc.- uses regular micro USB plug so, if connector fails you can easily use another one. Previous camera had cable hard-wired into camera.- it came with a privacy shield to attach. I didn't think it had that. And it's a sliding type which can help with my main complaint below.- the price. Got it for under $20 which is amazing.- can be used with a tripod with the threaded hole on bottom of the clip (but it does NOT come with that)Things I don't like:- the field of view is very wide compared to the others I've tried. This is just a preference and may be a positive for someone else. I just don't want to show my whole room but focus more on my face. This is pretty wide. (The sliding privacy cover can be used to narrow that by partially closing it) UPDATE: I was able to compare it to another webcam and realized that the field of view is the same but the other one had more of a fisheye effect which enlarged my face relative to the background with noticeable curving of straight lines near the borders. This DepsTech model had no distortion like that. So if you want your face magnified at the expense of a warped fisheye effect, get another model. If not, this one is your choice.Overall, I'm very satisfied and would recommend with the one caveat in case someone doesn't want a wide angle.

Overall a decent budget webcam
The overhand of the front lip on the base is about 9mm, so if you position this above a monitor with bezels smaller than 1cm, the webcam will most likely block part of your screen.Pros: - Simple and minimalist design is much better than most other budget webcam options. - Picture quality is nice and sharp. - Wide angle lens is still perfectly suited for single person use sitting in front of a desktop or laptop. - Webcam can spin and pivot to adjust it in any direction. - Plug and play seemed to work fine in Windows 10.Cons: - Microphones are not great at picking up sound. With it about two feet away from my mouth the sound on the other end is pretty quite and other have some trouble hearing me (tried with multiple apps). Would probably work better on a laptop where it would probably be positioned closer to you. - Blue power light shines bright right where the camera is pointed (at you). It's bright enough to be bothersome. Easy to cover up with some electric tape or anything else.

WOW What a difference a webcam makes!
This is the first time I write a review within 20 minutes of receiving the product. I am an HR manager and a college student who is currently living in Zoom conference meetings and class lectures. I have been using Zoom for 9 months with my laptop embedded camera. Just recently I enrolled in a communications college course, which requested we have good audio and camera for recording presentations of ourselves. So I scrolled and scrolled through Amazon looking for a webcam that wasn't too cheap but also not too expensive. I came across this webcam, the price seemed good and after skimming through the reviews I decided to purchase it. WOW, what a difference in camera clarity, sharpness, quality and color! I uploaded 2 photos in this review; the first photo is with my laptop's embedded camera and the 2nd photo is using the webcam. I should have invested in a webcam 9 months ago, now I am sad that I didn't make this type purchase sooner. Very easy to install, just plug and go. I don't know yet how to make this my default camera for my laptop general use, but when in Zoom I just had to open the video section (while in the meeting) and choose the webcam camera. HUGE difference! I am planning to purchase this camera for my kids to use in their online classrooms.

There is a light when the camera is not in use / loose gimbal
Got this last week for Zoom calls. Works great with my 2019 MacBook Pro and easy to set up.You do have to tell your apps which camera to use each time - not sure if there is a way around it but it can be a bit annoying. My facetime camera is broken and it always defaults to facetime before the webcam. Not a huge deal. The only thing I do not like about this camera is there is no on / off switch. It's either plugged in or not - and even when you're not using it there is a blue light. The blue does not change when the camera is accessed, it's just always on. A bit creepy. I wish the light only came on when it was sending video feed, otherwise I feel the need to unplug it every time I'm not using it.Update** Not long after getting this the "tightness" in the gimbal is WAY loose now and it's very hard to get the camera to stay straight. It is almost always lopsided unless I get the cord to balance the camera flat. super annoying!
