- VEGETABLE-DYED COVER: The notebook's cover is made using the time honored tradition of vegetable-dyes with natural black walnut husks used to create the rich brown cover and a mix of pomegranate and indigo for the green spine.
- RENEWABLE PAPER SOURCE: The lokta bush provides the pulp for the paper and grows naturally on the southern slopes of the Himalayas of Nepal. When cut, the lokta bush quickly regrows. Lokta fibers are cooked into a mash and then spread by hand across boxed screens and set to dry in the Himalayan sunshine.
- NATURAL TEXTURE: Each page has a distinct texture on both sides with one side showing a hint of the fine texture from the screen used to create the paper. The other side, called the sun-kissed side, forms naturally as the pulp dries in the sun, creating a natural wrinkle texture unique to lokta paper. Handmade in Nepal. Namaste.
