Didn't work right out of the box.Tech service said it needs calibration with a weight you must buy.Just ridiculous!

One worked perfectly, one did not
I bought two Valor 1000 scales. The first one did and still does work flawlessly. The second one I left in the box as a backup. Today, I tried to use it and it doesn't work properly. It is unable to show a steady weight. No matter what I try, the weight of any object changes plus or minus 50+ grams. Because I bought it in July the return window is closed and the support window closed Feb 1st....Yesterday of all days. I recommend testing any electronic equipment right away even if you don't use it immediately.

Instructions not very clear.
I would add a clear and concise instruction manual. I like to have the manual with me as I learn a new tool for my kitchen. I don't like to go back and forth to the computer. Otherwise a nice addition to my kitchen.
