Q: Can you use as sea sponge tampons?

Unfortunately, we do not know if these can be used as tampons. They approximately 1-1/2" to 2".They are a natural silk sponge that come from the sea. Thank you.

Q: Would these work for my Hermit crabs?

Hello. Not sure what you do with the hermit crabs. I can tell you that these are a small natural silk sponge that comes from the sea. They are approximately 2 inches long. I am assuming that since they are a natural sponge from the sea that it would be a natural habitat for a hermit crab. However, we have no testing to back that up. Sorry this is vague but hopefully it helps.Thank you very much.

Yes, when sea sponges are growing on the sea floor, they have a hard coral-like exterior that has to be removed, so there is some processing to remove that layer and to clean and soften the sponge for body use. When properly harvested, the removal of sponge tissue doesn't harm the sponge, and it has been shown that cutting may increase sponge growth (like clipping back plants in a garden.) There isn't any indicator on the packaging as to where these sponges were harvested. Hope that helps! :)

I don't remember... I threw the packaging away, I'm not sure if I remember seeing where it was made. But they work great.
