EXCELLENT book, should be in every teenager's school curriculum
This is on the whole, an EXCELLENT book, describing as it does, India's glory days in science and technology. It touches on a variety of topics, including even AVIATION! The book is written in a curious fashion though, varying from EXCELLENT English on the one hand to ERRONEOUS English on the other - makes you wonder whether "Amit Jha" is actually more than one person! (writing under a pseudonym). One gripe I had with this book is when it started talking about ASTROLOGY, and how its an example of India's glory days in science. That just sounded erroneous and nonsensical to me.But anyway, all that aside, this should be REQUIRED reading for any teenager, combating the notion that science itself is European! This book will go a little of the way in installing pride in being Indian in a school going person, and might help to mitigate the exodus to the West.A special mention also needs to be made of the quality of paper - it was absolutely white and thin like muslin must be, and made the book a pleasure to read. Buy it!
