Can i use this in a pan of simmering beans for mashed beans? Im looking for a small masher I really hate the clunkyness of the regular size.

It's pretty small. The height may be an issue for you - it is less than 7" tall. I use it for small quantities of egg salad in a bowl.

Can you also use it to scoop eggs out of hot water?

No, I do not believe it would be good for that. It is rather small and good for mashing but I think it would be unstable for scooping eggs from hot watet

What size are the little holes on the plate of the masher?

I'm not really sure of the diameter, I love this little guy. Best masher ever. Works on ripe avocados too!!
