Not high grade stainless steel.
I'm very pleased with the two pans, but as I figured by the price it wasn't going to be high quality stainless steel and I was right. Didn't even come close to the magnet test. High grade stainless steel a magnet will not stick to it. Mid grade stainless steel a magnet will hold so so. Low grade it holds on well. the lower the grade of stainlesssteel. The better a magnet will hold. The magnet I used was a low grade magnet that holds a photo on my refrigerator. Not a strong magnet at all. It stuck nicely onto both pans. I have to say. I do love Farberware products. I grew up using them. My mom and dad received a complete set of Farberware as a wedding gift. That was in 1956. My mom still has that complete set and she still uses them everyday. A life time of use and they still look great. One cam ask for more than that. A magnet will not stick them either. I bought a complaint set of Farberware when I moved out on my own back in 1979. I still have my set. Some thing, amagnet will not stick to them. The reason I bought these 2 pans. I bought them because my original set didn't include these size pans. I have been using non stick pans for decades. I'm tried of them only lasting a short time and wanted to go back to using stainless steel pans. So I bought this set. Being low stainless steel, they still clean up easily and cook evenly. In my opinion they're very nice pans at a great price. I hope this helps. A good quality stainless steel pan is going to cost a lot more.

Buen material

Straightforward, simple set of skillets.
I have owned these pans for about three months now and use them for sauteing vegetables, pan-frying eggs, and searing meats. This is a really good value for two pans of small/small-medium size. The pans themselves are nothing fancy, but they are reliable, durable, and get the job done without the risk of Teflon and other "non-stick" chemicals they spray. I have been searching for the right pan for many years. I tried out ones with Teflon, ones with Teflon alternatives, and even the "green" pans that claim not to use non-toxic coatings. They have all failed me for different reasons. Ultimately, this is just a practical set for those not looking for anything fancy and just looking for tried-and-true pans aside from another great alternative, an iron skillet. Who knew that something so simple would turn out to be the best? The only issue with stainless steel pans is that they tend to stick. You have to adjust your cooking skills and re-learn cooking, but only briefly. The amount of oil and heat has to be just right in order to prevent your eggs or chicken breast from sticking to the pan, and you can't flip too early or late, otherwise whatever you cook will stick. Once you get through that slight hurdle, though, you will be cooking to your stomach's content without worrying about dangerous flakes of whatever chemicals or hazardous metals that may wind up in your body. These pans distribute heat well and are easy to clean as well, along with being able to take a beating. I recommend using a wooden or silicon cooking utensil to prevent scratching the nice surface. Overall, it's a great set of skillets that also goes perfectly with my 12-inch stainless steel skillet, also made by Farberware.
