The Doberman Pinscher: Brains and Beauty (Howell's Best of Bre)

Without going into too much detail, this book is the best Doberman book I've ever read. The history section is far more detailed than any other book out there, and the thing I love about this book is that it is ENTIRELY dedicated to Dobermans. Some books have the first half dedicated to a certain breed, and then the rest is just the same info on health, grooming, etc. regardless of the breed. This book is different, and it's strictly made for Doberman enthusiasts. When it talks about health, grooming, etc. it's tailored to only Dobermans, and that's what makes this book unique. Every word in this book pertains to Dobermans, and that's why it's worthy of 5 stars. If you are a Doberman owner, or just want to learn more about this magnificent breed, then this book is a must have!

This is a great book for any one who currently owns a doberman or is wanting to get a doberman. I highly recommend you read this book. It covers everything from training to proper diet to health care for the animal. It also gives you a nice history of the doberman, and the photos in the book are gorgeous. Yes I am a doberman lover and breeder, and after many years of searching for a good reference book I have found it, this is the one. It doesn't cover 100% everything, but it gives you a lot of pertinent and necessry information.

This book includes the essential history of the breed, from its origins in Germany to its current American and German standards. A wealth of information for prospective Doberman owners and current dobe lovers alike. Absolutely required reading for prospective Doberman owners as it details essential differences between the German and American Doberman.Cons: spends a great deal of time on pedigree information that becomes pedantic.Conclusion: This is the definitive book on dobermans. Those who have even a passing interest in the breed should read it. Skim over the detailed family trees of early dobes. Concentrate on the meat of the book which details the complex history of this amazing breed of dog.

I am a new Doberman owner and this is a new Breed for me, so I really appreciated having all the information and so many differences of owners and their successes. Everything to look forward to.

This is a well respected book in the Doberman Pinscher world. A basic coffee table type book, finding one to purchase can be difficult.

Very good book on the Doberman Pinscher. Great content and pictures. Doberman history from origin of breed to current day information. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone seeking information on the Doberman Pinscher.

You will not find a better book on Doberman's. The authors know all there is to know about this awesome and wonderful breed. Was blessed to know both of them.
