No it is not heavy, i found though that due to one part of the hoop being weighted by the batteries that i could not keep the hoop spinning more than a small few times as the weighted part would drop down. In saying that perhaps it was me and not the hoop to blame for this! I can spin an evenly weighted hoop well though. Hope this helps.

Bought two last Christmas and one broke during assembly. The other was very difficult to put together and didn’t last long. Such poor quality for an expensive product. Would not recommend.
