works great
Using these in a Heat treating plant that has lots of water in the air lines due to the temp diffrence. Hve it set to drain for 5 seconds ever 1/2 hour and has worked well for our needs.

Valve won’t shut :edited
Only one of the valves I got works, it will open but stays stuck open. The one that does work does a good job but I’m afraid it may also get stuck open.Edit: Took it apart to figure out what broke so I could take a picture, turns out a large about of rust debris that was sitting at the bottom of the tank had stopped it from shutting. If you have this same problem try taking the valve assembly apart and cleaning it out.

Does a great job.
Easy hookup. 1 adapter is the wrong size. But easy to get. Set it up and forget it. Nice knowing there is no water buildup in the tank.

Here is the proper way to assemble this product
The media could not be loaded. The directions that come with this are poor, and there seems to be some confusion among some reviewers about how to assemble it. I gave it only 4 stars because the filter has inappropriate threads for plumbing.

This Automated drain is fantastic!
I love this Automated drain valve.. Since I added an intercooler to my 60 gallon air compressor, I was able to set my automatic drain for a two second duration every 45 minutes. And now I never have to worry about fooling with that damn petcock. And I couldn’t believe how inexpensive this product was. Let’s hope it lasts?

Failure in 6 months
Where to begin with this drain. This is the 2nd of these types of drains I have purchased here on Amazon for my 80g air compressor. The first one, another similar brand of an identical unit, failed inside of a few months. So, I get a refund after fighting them since they would rather not replace it. Ok, good in the end as far as that is concerned. Now I purchased this particular unit in October. Mind you I didn't really use my compressor at all from December through February as my business slows in the colder months and ramps in the spring. So what went wrong? The same exact thing as the other, low cost drain: The electromagnet failed. Plunger inside that it triggers does nothing, no open or close, just a hum and buzzing sound when it triggers. Take it apart to make sure there's no debris or corrosion, and there is none what so ever. The other did the identical thing when it failed. So, do yourself a favor and skip these inexpensive, failure prone devices and get one that's from a reputable manufacturer. Sure, they will cost you, but the overall time and headache savings will far dwarf these things. I was really hoping the other was a fluke, clearly it wasn't. These are just made with very poor components apparently.

works
Worked fine for me with gray teflon tape.

Good value
This is not a plug & play installation.Instructions seem to have been translated from the Venusian into North Korean, and then to English. Completely incomprehensible; utterly useless.Threads are 1/2 inch. You will need adapters. And Teflon tape.Valve leaked when first installed. Had to disassemble, rotate to get it working right.BUT consider the cost. 1/10 price of alternatives. For my shop, this’ll do.
