Moose deterrent
Plantskyyd is the best to deter moose, although when they're really hungry, nothing deters them. It lasts the longest. I sprayed trees in November and again on a warm(ish) day in February. It's been a mild winter, so the moose haven't had to come into town often for a buffet. I've seen tracks and droppings but no damage to the trees I sprayed.I've tried unsuccessfully to use the powdered Plantskyyd. The premixed liquid works well. I purchased the gallon size (directly from Plantskyyd, since the order from Amazon wasn't packaged well and never got to me.) I have the smaller spray bottle that I fill from the gallon.Pricey, but I've spent lots of $$ on trees, so it's worth it to protect them.

Works with horses
I was having a big problem with one of my horses wanting to eat all the new growth off one of my young trees in the front yard. I don't have a cross fence yet to keep them away from the house so, this has been a big problem. I have tried several things with no results. This however worked! I sprayed from the ground up, being sure to soak all the new growth and the limbs and trunk of the tree. It's been month now and my poor tree is doing better than ever. No more signs of whole limbs or new leafs missing. I couldn't be happier. I spray about every 2 weeks as stated on the instructions. It does stink! But then it's blood? I can live with it. I did notice some complaining about the sprayer clogging rendering it useless? First, you want to save the original cap so you can reuse it. When done using the product, take the sprayer off and run water through it. I usually fill a cup full of water in the sink and put the end of the sprayer in it and spray till it runs clear. Then spray the rest of the water out and store till next time. Put the original cap back on and your good to go. Also, so I didn't waste any product, when I first took the sprayer out, I sprayed what was still left in the sprayer back into the container before I ran water through it. Just be sure not to get any on you as we all know, blood stains. Awesome product that has saved my tree without being hazardous to my animals. It has also kept the rabbits at bay. Happy tree and happy customer.

A better sprayer this year!!!
Been using this product for several years. Always had two issues with the sprayer provider so I always transferred it to a better sprayer. This year's sprayer is MUCH better at applying the liquid and I didn't get any product on my hands. However, it still easily becomes detached from the bottle.. Kudos to the design team but more work needs to done. Still the best product for Deer/Rabbit repellent!!

Congeals into sludge that cannot be sprayed.
Bought 4 bottles of this stuff. ALL of them congealed into a thick sludge and could not be sprayed. Just gummed up the sprayer. Had to pour it out around the plants and big chucks of sludge came out. Product certainly stinks alot and likely keeps the deer away, but since it cannot be sprayed, it is very difficult to apply. Would not buy this sludge again.

Review of Just the Spraying
This is just a rvw of the application process, because no one seems to really talk about that, and it's NOT for the faint of heart. Pig blood is an ingredient, but I just didn't expect the spraying experience. It is like spraying actual, fresh blood all over your garden. When the literature talks about the temporary "staining", that really means the tree looks like it is dripping blood. I recommend: wearing disposable gloves(it's a shock to look down and see hands covered in blood), wearing grungy clothes you can throw in the washer asap, and trying to avoid breezes if at all possible. I sprayed in central Ohio in early December, on a sunny 30 degree morning with a light breeze, dry plants and no snow cover. Treating with snow on the ground would lead to an interesting looking scene no doubt... Plan on hitting the shower too after application, the product really smells very strong. Then plan on washing the bottle, removing and thoroughly washing the sprayer(preferably all outside) and then storing them in something airtight like a resealable bag or plastic container, as even closed, the bottle smells. And you probably shouldn't store it in a place with temp swings, like a garage, so you need to make it as unobjectionable as possible to store indoors. This is NOT meant to talk you out of buying this product - but just know it's not like spraying window cleaner. If this keeps the deer from finishing off my newly planted trees and the rabbits from girdling the fruit trees, I will gladly go through all of the steps listed above to spray the trees again. I'll update the review later with info on effectiveness.(3 Months Later) The trees that I sprayed in December have been left alone. The couple of young seedling trees I forgot to spray in December were eaten. This spray definitely works. I re-applied now and it was much easier the second time around.

Keeps deer away
I live in the Pacific Northwest and we have a big problem with deer in our yard. I love gardening and didn’t want to be limited to only deer resistant plants but also didn’t wasn’t to do a ton of work to keep the deer out. I used to have plants being eaten down to the roots overnight but with this the deer don’t touch them. I reapply it about once a month in the summer and this seems to be enough. The only downside is that once you open the bottle, you really need to use the whole thing. If you don’t, the sprayer gets clogged the next time you try to use it. I’ve tried running water through the sprayer after the first use but even that doesn’t help.
