Better than normal PC dust filters.
Initial impressions before even using them was pretty good. Pulling them out I was pleasantly surprised at the feel of these filters. They are solid things made completely out of metal. Not flimsy at all like most dust filters, these things have some build quality to them.Unlike most dust filters which are just a piece of plastic with a bunch of tiny holes drilled into it (which tends to be very restrictive) these are a bunch of small metal wire criss crossed in a metal frame. Put into normal terms they are like a screen in a window. Comparatively they are much less restrictive than normal air filters. The only issue I have is that I can't exactly use them. My case has a very odd front fan mounting system which uses long screws (like radiator screws) and the elevated screw holes on these filters make it impossible to get the screw to reach my cases screw holes. So I guess I'll be modifing my case. But on any normal case with normal fan mounting then these should be great.

Sturdy little screens best at keeping large particles out, not really "ultra fine".
If these screens were actually 'ultra fine' very little air could get through them. I'd say the apertures are maybe half the size of ordinary screen door material. My idea of 'ultra fine' would be < > 1/10th mm.A set (16) of short screws are provided to attach to the intake side of your 120mm fans (there are no instructions included) so I assume it's the intake side.Because they screw onto the fan frame, the most common method of cleaning would be swiping the surface with a damp rag.The screen material is metal and so is the frame, so they'll probably last a long time. My purpose was to keep larger particles such as cat hair and laundry lint from accumulating on the fan's leading edges. The guards that I previously had on my fans could allow small objects such as pencils or small fingers to reach into the blade path and these "grills" eliminate that possibility. The aperture size is large enough that a person could spray paint them without losing too much permeability if you took it easy on the paint. I don't mind the silver color though. All in all, I like them; they are reasonably priced, well made, and adding them to the 120's hasn't caused them to be louder nor has it appreciably decreased the apparent air flow. Given the chance I would buy them again and would recommend them for the purpose.

They work but do not discount issues, easily fixable though!
This review is for: 120mm Computer Fan Filter Grills with Screws, Ultra Fine Aluminum Mesh, Black Color - 4 PackI bought these because my two front intake fans lacked any filter or screen. The bottom intake fan came with it's own case filter but not the two front. The case itself is 5 years old and is a Raidmax case...think Alienware but generic lol.The pics they have of the filter on the front of a fan would not work in my case. The two front case fans have longer screws and the pics on here for how they look has them with the screw holes facing out. I had to turn them around so the screws could go deeper. I initially had problems with them actually touching the fan blades which made a terrible noise and would cause one of the fans to stop rotating entirely. I ended up just barely screwing the screws in and this fixed the issue. They are very sturdy metal grills. The material for the grills is metal and very very similar to screen door holes. I had no issues with the holes not lining up between the grills and the fans.Good product and I would recommend them!

Didn't work with any of my PCs, needs longer fan screws
If you're planning on mounting these case fan filter to the outside of your PC case, then you'll likely run into some issues. The thickness of the filter fram, plus the fact that the mounting holes on the filter frame are indented, makes it impossible to mount unless you have longer than normal fan screws. There is the option to mount the filter on the backside of the case fan, but then all the dust would get trapped with the fan and somewhat negate the point of using a dust filter... I'll be sticking with the mesh filters that have a magnetic frame from now on.

Worked great in my two HAF XB EVO setups
I used these on the two 80mm fans in the bottom of my case. I set them up as intakes to force my top fan airflow upward better and ventilate my inward facing PSU fan. I have a cube style case so the mobo is laying flat, not attached to the side of it.These arrived sturdy, a little flex, and fit on the inside of my case up against my fans. I have no clue about their dust stopping ability yet. I needed them for cat hair, which I know they will stop from sucking into my fans.
