Q: do these fit briggs and stratton

The Fram PH, TG, or XG will fit a Briggs but it needs to be a 3614 or if you have the room a 3600

Q: in what auto would you use this oil filter ?

I've used this on my 2013 Nissan Sentra instead of the 6607 that is specified. The thread and fit is exactly the same, except this filter is about 3/4 inch longer, which does not interfere with anything. The 7317 (by my guess) has ~50% more filter material than the 6607. This filter is also specified for the Nissan Titan trucks, if I recall.
