Brace Yourself: Book Nine of the Syndicated Cartoon Strip Stone Soup

This is the book I've been waiting for. Ever since Joan and Wally got married I've been making bets with myself whether or not a baby would be on the way. It turns out I was right. This is book nine of the Stone Soup series and a fun filled one it is too, especially when Joan's pregnancy gets going. Bless Jan Eliot, her books are a riot and very insightful at the same time.

Jan Eliot is one of the best cartoonists working today. I've loved all her books, and this one is no exception. Her characters are better than real (wittier, funnier, but in situations that very much resemble reality), and her drawing has gotten better and better over the years. Buy all her books. Subscribe to her comic strip online. Get your newspaper to carry it (mine just started). Can't wait til the next book comes out.

Once again; Jan Eliot has done it again! If you have a family, had a family or are part of a family - there is something for everyone! Child rearing; widows dating; finding out that Gramma's a cougar; teenage angst; good old fashion kids play and of course, pregnancy!!! With a good dose of humor to boot!

This is a wonderful collection of the lives of sisters, their mother, their children, significant others (one turns into a spouse)a dog. Misadventures, life experiences are all presented in their rare form, not so neatly, just like life. But the sense of humor is priceless.

This really does fill in the picture of some of my favorite comic characters. While being its ever-entertaining self, the comic touches on origins of many of the story lines: Andy, Luci, and more. This is a great one.
