I was honestly expecting the worst. First I will say, I have a medium-olive toned complexion, not sure I would recommend for fair skin. I bought this to get a little color before wedding I was in, and I didn’t have time to hit the tanning bed. I wanted to test it before hand, so about a week before the big day I tried a small amount just on the upper half of my body and my face. The length of time you leave it on determines how dark of a tan you achieve. The lotion seemed REALLY dark, as the color gets deeper the longer you’ll leave it on, so after 2 hours I washed it because I was afraid it was going to come out orange or look fake. To my surprise, it left behind the prettiest shade and didn’t look fake in the least. The day of the wedding I applied a thicker layer and left it on for about 4 hours and was very happy with the results! Be careful!! It WILL stain your clothes, furniture/upholstery, wash cloths/towels if you don’t get it off of them IMMEDIATELY.

People who talk about this going down the drain obviously do not know how modern self tanners work. This is a beautiful product that gives a gorgeous deep color. The color that is applied when you first put the product on is what is called a "guide color". This guide color allows you to make sure that you are applying it evenly so you don’t get streaks. After you wash it off, the guide color does wash off with it but what you’re left with is a beautiful tan. You need only go to YouTube to figure this out. It does have a self tan scent after a while but it’s not the worst I’ve ever smelled. And there is some degree of tackiness after you use it but again it’s not as bad as other self tanners that I’ve used. I highly recommend this product. There really is none like it.

This product is amazing!!! This was my first time buying a self tanner and I’m incredibly pale so I was very nervous. I did all the necessary prep work (exfoliate, shower before and don’t put anything on your skin before applying self tanner) and it worked great. Went on smooth and dried fairly quickly before I went to bed. I was in a hotel so I was nervous about staining the sheets but I didn’t see any leftover color when I woke up. Just make sure you’re completely dry before you go to bed. I wore the tanner overnight for about 8 hours and when I rinsed it off the next morning it looked sooo natural. Very happy with this stuff

I read mixed reviews for this product which made me hesitant to try it out. What sold me was the almost instant dry time, as I was hoping not to smear sunless tanner everywhere while I got ready for bed (I tan at bedtime).Im not an expert self tanner but I’m competent and have been using sunless for years . This is my second favorite tanner, with the exception being st tropez gradual tan moisturizer. (I’ll get to that shortly.)This tanner did not streak. At all. No patches, no streaks. Mitt was nice and easy to use. I showered in the morning after application and while a lot of the color washed away, what you get right away is mostly color guide anyway. The tan left behind is subtle and attractive. Im not competing in a beauty pageant so subtle is fine with me. Subtle is what helps hide any application errors anyway.The scent is nice, tropical fruity, and this Is the only product I’ve ever used that didn’t leave me smelling like feet and sunless tanner stink. Im a fan of this.You do need to work with purpose because this foam dries fast after application. I was nervous about that but found that if I had a game plan going in, I didn’t feel rushed. Just be ready to work and dont dawdle.Here is, honestly, my only complaint. The color guide transfers. My bed looked like I covered myself in bronzer and wiped it off on the sheets. I wasn’t expecting that, I guess to me “dries to the touch” meant “also will not transfer”, but it DOES dry to the touch and the color guide WILL transfer on contact.The st tropez gradual tan moisturizer does not transfer and also offers a subtle tan with little streaking. Which is why it’s my winner for sleeping in. It does make me stink like tanner and does streak somewhat. This foam did not streak at all and left NO sunless stink at all. If the color guide didn’t transfer this would be my number one favorite tanner ever.I’ll still use this product, depending on my mood and whether I care about my sheets. I’m sure like all tanners the guide will wash right out of fabric but still, it’s a pet peeve for me. (My first time using this product was last night, so I haven’t seen my sheets post wash.)Overall, I’m glad I bought this and the color is perfect for me. Natural, even and really just pretty. I honestly believe that experienced and beginner tanners can succeed and be pleased with the results of this product.

I have never used a self tanner as tan well during the summer due to my work and activities. This year i had to ensure my legs were covered so whilst I had tanned on upper body my legs looked white pale in comparison. With trepidation I used the St Tropez mousse...I'd previously tried a spray tan and ended up looking like an oompa loopa! This stuff is amazing! Super easy to apply with included mitt and over a 4 hr period made my legs look the same bronze as my arms. No orange glow. Streak free, no tackiness or stickiness after application... a pleasant enough scent. Very happy!

I am a fan of St Tropez products and have used the self tanners for several years. While this particular product didn't disappoint in color, the smell really intensified, not in a good way, as it was left on for 4+ hours (I always leave my tanner on more than one hour). The initial scent when applying smelled delicious, it's just the long haul scent that got pretty intense. Honestly, for the amount of money I paid, I will go back to the lesser priced St Tropez as this one just didn't have enough of a difference to warrant the extra costs.

I am very pale skinned naturally and if Im honest rarely use fake tan mostly because of the effort involved and the fact it usually looks orange (due to me being so pale prior to use) not to mention that it usually comes off looking patchy and dirty!!So I had a notion for a tan.. bought this.. tried it and all I can say is its the best I have ever used! Smells nice, easy application, dries fast, natural looking and most importantly it comes off evenly without dirty looking patches .. I hope St Tropez consider making this a permanent fixture in their tanning range .. I have added a photo of my arm 5 days post application to show how evenly it fades (watch strap mark shows how pale I am normally and this is the only white mark I have!)

So easy to use, drys quickly. Washed off after 4 hours and was left with a all over sun kissed glow. No patches. Washed off easy. Soft skin. Also used left over product on mit on my face and it came out perfectly. I will definitely be getting more of this range. I can't rate it high enough.I will add I looked patchy after the shower but after I dried off it was perfect! I also done my fingers and toes and they normally patch up and it hasn't done that with this product. Can't wait till my next tanning day.

Just gorgeous... a proper 'brown / olive' tan... not a dodgy orange colour.Glides on beautifully as it is a whipped formula and has a really pleasant scent.A little goes a long way and the glove is really smooth too... A lovely lovely product that has great longevity and amazing colour results. Happily buy this again and again. You get what you pay for.

Patch test.Photo one, nice thick mousse, no noticeable scent and dried fast. Would be fine to sleep with, seems pretty colour fast.Photo 2. Wiped half off (wrist end) after 2 hours. Colour very brown/dirty, no warmth at all. Wasn’t hopeful at this point.Photo 3. Having washed the other half off after 4 hours (total) and slept, I woke to a golden (not orange) colour. No real difference between 2 and 4 hour sides. No smell at all. Exfoliated and the colour has not budged.I think I’ll try all over for 2 hours and allow some fading before an event.Great product so far, but very disappointed to find the mitt was NOT included in the package (it was sealed with 2 St Tropez stickers but not sure if legit).

I’ve waited to use this a few times before reviewing. I’m not totally convinced by this product. Yes it is easy to apply but to me it smells exactly of biscuity fake tan and the smells stays. The tan does develop to a beautiful colour…infact the perfect colour which is annoying as it more or less all washes off. Thought maybe I had done something wrong but tried it 3 times now and same thing every time. I tied applying before bed. For longer than suggested and for exact time. Same thing every time it looks great snd then washes down the drain. The colour your left with is still good and maybe subtle isn’t a bad thing. It’s also very sticky so applying in the day and getting dressed isn’t really practical. On the plus side didn’t dry my skin out like some fake tan and wow is it easy to apply. No stress and no streaks…even on knees, elbows etc so in short if you want a streak free, subtle sun kissed look this is the one!
