Yes The best thing to use is staples or if you use glue dots or other adhesives to tack down just put some type of embellishment over the spot

Q: Is this made of fabric or plastic?

It’s made of plastic. Very flexible. I cut it up and made bows out of it by using a grommet to fasten the bow.
