These bowls do keep the ants away. Just wish the mote was a little deeper & wider. I bought these bowls for a feral cat I feed & give water too..As soon as the weather warms up. The ants come in to attack and cat food left. These bowls are keeping the ants out .Only problem being the bowls are outside & I'm sure the water in the mote will only stay in it and keep the ants back..Evaporation is going to be my enemy keeping water in the mote to keep the pesky ants away from my feral cAts food until I feed him the next day..

This bowl is simple and perfect. Ants were finding their way into my cats wet food - he prefers to 'graze' his canned food over a couple hours, and won't eat it at one sitting. This bowl solved it, and I can go back to letting his food sit for him to eat at his leisure (cats.... it's how the are. Haha). Love this bowl, highly recommend it.

Finally a pet food dish that stays where I put it. Does not tip over. Outside tray is constructed as part of bowl and prevents ants from getting to food when filled with water. I use several sizes of bowls to insert and serve food closer to top. Helpful with smaller cats. Made of sturdy materials and easy to clean. I have three I use with inside cats and three I use with outside cats.

I bought this for my outside cat. The reservoir, as some had commented, is not very deep; but it works just fine for me. I have this bowl by my back door so I usually just take a cup of water and refill it when I put food out. It does need cleaned (algae does build up in the reservoir) occasionally. For convenience, and also less cleaning of the bowl, I bought a small metal bowl which I put the food into and then place that bowl inside of this bowl. I've been using it now for several months and the ants have not bothered his food; which was the main reason for this purchase. Overall, I would recommend this product and purchase again, if needed.

Every Summer we have issues with ants coming into our house to eat the cat food out of the bowl. But, ever since I ordered this particular bowl, the ants can not gain access to our cat's food! The water surrounding the bowl that holds the food acts as a "moat" like around a castle keeping the little buggers away! I would highly recommend using this bowl for either your cat or dog if you have issues with ants going after your pet's food. This is great!
