Excellent and complex fragrance
This fragrance oil is so beautifully packaged in a black leather-textured presentation box. Definitely wasn't expecting the wonderful packaging, which complements the quality of the bottle that the oil comes in!! This would make a nice gift to someone who loves fragrances. The box and the design of the bottle are very classy, and such high quality that it looks like it would have cost much more. The lid and glass bottle are heavy weight, substantial. The fragrance itself is hard to describe. My first impression was that it was very strong of baby powder and vetiver. First impression was that I liked it and also disliked it at the same time. It definitely smells very similar if not identical to what some of my elderly Arabic female relatives wear!! There's a strong matronly vibe to this, but I might be thinking it's a scent for a situ because of the association with older women I know who are wearing this or similar. Definitely an Arabic perfume, which I know is quite trendy right now. This isn't a perfume for everyone, and it's not a safe blind buy unless you already kind of know what to expect from Arabic perfumes. I know that's not saying much, as there are literally thousands of such fragrances, but I don't really know how explain it otherwise. I think some people would absolutely hate this smell, and others would find it very appealing. It's a somewhat floral scent, and while oud is definitely there, it's not as strong a presence as would be expected by the name. I was worried it might smell too masculine, as oud is more associated with masculine products. It seems more of a feminine fragrance, just a touch of oud. There's definitely chocolate aroma after it has dried down on the skin. It's a much more complex perfume also than what I had expected. To me, the main note I notice is vetiver! I don't particularly like vetiver. My mother insists this perfume smells awful and that it smells like "old Avon." I think the vetiver is why she said that. This does last a long time on the skin. I would recommend it hands down for that reason alone! I am so sick of buying endless bottles of stuff labeled "eau de parfum" that linger less than 30 minutes!! Not being nose-blind here lol, I do own several good perfumes that last all day...and quite a few that should have been labeled as body mist!! So if you want a lasting, generally pleasant fragrance--buy this!! It does last longer than some other essential oils that I wear, and it's longer lasting than most any spray-on perfumes!! This also comes with the option of a dip-stick or a roller ball. I hope I can keep the product clean using the wand. This fragrance layers well with some others I have tried. Overall, I do like this, and feel comfortable wearing it outside the home. It smells like it should have cost much more. It smells rich!! I do recommend it, but it's not for everyone. It's not something you're gonna find at typical American chain retailers. It is a different balance of fragrance than what we typically can buy here, so that's exotic...and a risk that it might not be appealing to everyone. Thankfully this has an excellent price, so go ahead and try it!!

Soft oud and sandalwood
This is a very soft, warm, scent, the kind that settles and melds to become an imagined skin scent. It also layered well with other bath products and perfume oils I like to use. The bottle is beautiful and heavy and adds to the feeling of enjoying a luxury product, as does the lovely box. It comes with a glass wand applicator as well as a roller ball that can be switched out with the wand if preferred.

Absolutely Lovely!
When you first smell it, it is a warm intoxicating chocolate smell. Then about 1 minute into smelling the perfume you get a chocolate plum smell (reminds me exactly like a Holiday dessert ❤️😍). After the dry down, it's a warm and spicy tone with the notes of the chocolate plum coming through. It's absolutely stunning and very much for the gourmand lovers! It is a powerhouse and not much is needed, after 2 dabs on my neck (it includes a rollarball you can swap out for it), my husband was able to smell me even after I left the room! It's loud and lasting, but not obnoxious! I would definitely give it a try especially for the price! I would say this is a Winter scent but you could definitely wear it year round 💗 Private Oud will be one of my staples from now on 🤗 ***edit: it's a more mature version of Choco Musk with a heavier chocolate and fruit note! For me the more I smell, it's not really plum but a cherry note I get! It's smells exactly like the chocolate covered cherries you get at the christmas time! Cherry isnt a note in this oil, but since the plum is a little deeper, it resembles cherry without the tart note. Very lovely and would definitely get again!!

Luxurious and warm
Pros: Luxurious heavy scent that stays and stays on everything. Cons: Luxurious heavy scent that stays and stays on everything. The people in your household who love this are happy. The people who don’t love scents will be…. Less happy! The scent itself is lovely, to me. Not having grown up around oud scents or middle eastern perfumes, the intriguing relationship between the floral/sweet and the deep Oud/amber notes is so intriguing. Also as far as Oud goes it’s a good introduction- not too stinky or indolic, if a bit artificial.

Smells divine and lasts a while
I have a special love for high end perfumes and although this product is very inexpensive I would consider this to be in that category. Smell I bought this after smelling Love, Don’t Be Shy by Killian. I wouldn’t say these are dupes of each other but I would say that they are in the same family. Both sensual gourmands that are deep, exotic, and interesting. Private Oud is like a chocolate caramel scent, but not in the juvenile or candy shop way. More like a dark and smokey way, definitely reminiscent of a grown man or woman. With that I would definitely say it is unisex although I get compliments mostly from women on the way I smell when I wear this. Longevity This lasts forever on me, seriously. Everyone’s body chemistry is different but this is probably the longest lasting fragrance I own, and it lasts in the hair and clothes until you wash them as well. This can actually be a pro and a con. I like to switch up my scents often, and am especially fond of fresh clean scents. Make no mistake Private Oud is definitely NOT that. It is a very heavy, powerful and demanding scent. I don’t always want to smell like that. Packaging The packaging is sublime, so elegant. It comes in a sleek black box that I actually like to keep it stored in. The product itself is small but trust me you don’t need more than a drop or two per use, anything more is overkill. I don’t think I will run out of this perfume for years despite its small size. The bottle it comes in is glass, and a very weighty glass at that (it reminds me of good quality crystal glassware). The applicator is like a stick that you can use to place droplets on yourself which I like but if you prefer it comes with a rollerball top you can switch it out for. Overall I really like this perfume and if you want something sensual, complex, heavy and very mature then I think you will like it too.

poor formula, not the same as the original
My mother gave this to me a couple years ago and I fell in love with it. I struggle to find fragrances with longevity on my skin so this was perfect. I read some of the reviews of long time buyers about how the formula changed and it’s not the same anymore. So I decided to see for myself because I really did fall in love with the old/original formula of this oil. Turns out they were right. The oil has this weird synthetic almost petroleum undertone now. It just feels and smells extremely cheap now. I still wore it to test the longevity and it doesn’t seem to last as long as I remembered. This would last all day. Even when it would rub off on my clothes the scent would last through the washes, it was that good. Now it’s not. The color of the oil is different too, definitely not how I remembered. I don’t know if they opted for cheaper ingredients for production, but whatever decision they made that changed the original formula of this oil was a very poor one. Super disappointed because this was my go to signature scent and this little vial lasted years. I don’t know how I’ll ever find something similar.

Stuffy, Animalic, Sweet, Dirty, Oud-ish.
Perfumes with Oud are hit or miss for me. I'v often bought some that I loved in the moment only to regret later. Others that were meh but then upon revisiting wowed me. This was a blind buy. I'd advise against it. Although it's not bad, it has certain characteristic that you're either going to like or hate. The packaging, bottle and cap are fancy. The bottle feels hefty; so does the cap. The opening is quite sweet and sugary. I think it's the Vanilla. Vanilla notes are diverse. Here, it seems to be of the sweet type. Almost cloying. Beneath it, I can pick up the rose. That too is of the sweet and spicy type. If it is not of the synthetic type, I suspect it's Rose Concrete: animalic and dirty. I do not pick up on the pepper; seems like it's overpowered by the Vanilla. It is definitely a women's perfume, as listed on the seller's home. Construction/story: this is a simplistic perfume. It does not have a 'character.' It's a collection of notes that smell curious. Nothing wrong with that. If I were to describe it in one sentence: it is a dirty animalic scent. development: quite consistent. It doesn't change much throughout its life on skin. As it dries down the sweetness subsides and so does the dirtiness, but they remain noticeable. I cannot discern the oud in any stage of its development, probably due to the heavy Vanilla. It smells best at the end stage of the drydown. As an oil with notes that are heavy on their own, it remains muted in colder weather. This needs to be worn in hot weather to be lifted up. I did notice it smelled better in such weather. I ended up mixing it with alcohol at 50/50 to help to bring more life into it in colder weather. That helped. It did not evoke any special connection with my nose. It's an OK perfume. Not my type. Not cheap, but not expensive either if you'd enjoy it.
