How long do these usually last? I bought two in 2013 for my washer and it's banging a lot again when it cycles.

I’ll join the 2-3 year crowd. I installed my last pair Oct 2018 and just started wash and the banging was quite loud. We’re a family of 3 and are probably running at least one load of something near daily in a 2015 HE front-load washer, with the ocassional marathon laundry day/weekend. I actually came here to order another set. I’ve been using arrestors for 20 years and 2-3 years has been consistent. I don’t consider that “failure”, as I’ve never had had one leak, break, or otherwise impact water flow. I just think these things just have limited functional life depending on use and water hardness.

What is the source of the max 60psi spec? i can only find 60psi mentioned here on amazon, not on the sioux chief website.

On the back of the packaging there are installation instructions from which Amazon has quoted the 60psi statement verbatim.

does it fit for LG HE washer WM3470HWA? What is different when saying female swivel and male hose?

I have a Whirlpool front loader HE washer and the two water connections on the washing machine are Male Pipe Thread (MPT) with no shutoff valve. I looked at your machines owners manual and it looks like you have straight MPT connections on the back, so the Sioux Chief 660-H 3/4 inch Female Swivel will work for you. I don't have the dimensions for this device handy but your machine will move forward from the back wall about 6" to accommodate the Mini Rester. I have it installed with the water supply hoses coming in the bottom of the device.

Will this device stop banging on the entire water system? We have banging not just on the washing machine but every toilet and sink..

Rather than installing an arrester on every appliance or faucet my plumber told me about a whole-house water arrester. It would probably need to be installed by a professional unless you're good at cutting and soldering pipes. The arrester would be installed where your water supply enters the house. For now the only time my pipes get hammered is the washer so I used two of these Sioux Chief mini rester to solve my problem. Another problem could be water pressure. If your water pressure is over 60psi that can cause the hammer effect, too. I had a house where the pressure was 90psi and installed a water pressure reduction valve at the curb stop. Solved my hammer problem with that. "
