My review is completely impartial, the way a review should be.I wanted to try a diffuser after seeing and smelling one at a friend's house. 99% of the diffusers I found had lights, bells or whistles on them, and were visually unattractive. Why? Is it so hard to make a diffuser that just does what it should? This one seemed simple, clean and modern compared to the rest, and was a reasonable price. It has a nice matte rubber finish on the outside. It isn't a huge tank but it lasts through at least a three hour cycle. The footprint is small, and it's fairly unobtrusive, so it would be easy to hide behind something on a tabletop, especially a dark colored table or bookshelf. I placed the diffuser in a bedroom and left it on intermittent for about an hour. The scent easily spread into other parts of the home after that short period of time. We have been using it for about a week with great results. I plan on ordering a second one for the living areas of the house because I like this one so much. I did follow the advice of many other reviewers and got high quality essential oils.12/13/16 Update: both diffusers still going strong. I noticed that after a several weeks the scent output was not quite as strong. I did some research online and came across some different cleaning methods. The instructions for this diffuser recommend wiping it out with a soft cloth and mild detergent, and using a cotton swab and alcohol to wipe the oscillator plate. That didn't seem to be doing a thorough job. I decided to try another method: fill the diffuser with enough alcohol to cover the bottom and run for about 2 minutes, dump the alcohol, then wipe and air dry. That did the trick! I do that once a week, and both work like new all the time. But please note, that is not what the instructions say to do. I was willing to try it and risk voiding the warranty, so if you want to adopt that method, you are on your own. Maybe the manufacturer will do some tests of their own and update if they find it more efficient and safe.Update 8/1/17: I love this diffuser. I finally figured out a place to put one in the bathroom where I keep a litter box so I'm back to buy a third one. But it's not available anymore, except as a used item. NOOOOOOOO! Please stock this item again!!!!!

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I purchased this item to use exclusively in my bedroom at night.One, it it very sleek and modern, and minimalistic looking. I love diffusing essential oils, but the look of some of the diffusers is just not my style. I have another diffuser in my office with a plastic bamboo wrap, it's okay, but doesn't really go with my decor.Two, no light. This was the selling point. When reviews said it emits no light, I thought they were bluffing. I want complete darkness when sleeping, this delivers!Three, it's quiet. Sure, you are going to hear the slight gargling of the water, but it's very faint compared to my Now Brand diffuser.Four, it lasts. I select the second option (just push the power button twice), and it turns on in intervals. Typically it last for 2 nights, even though it only takes about 1 cup of water.The only negatives I have found with this is that the matte 'skin' around the steam hole has started to wrinkle. If I were to touch it, I fear it would start to come off. It's not that big of a deal, but I hope that it doesn't continue to deteriorate. The second is that because it's matte, it will leave fingerprints/marks. Again, not a big deal, I just wipe down with a cloth with my weekly dusting. These 2 things wouldn't keep me from buying another, or even giving this as a gift. It's a great design, and works great.Please make some in more colors, I would love a matte white or grey!!

Buyer beware---this plastic gets very sticky over time.

I have never written a review but I felt like I had to this time. I bought this Diffuser because the description boasted durable plastic basin accommodates even the strongest scents. I like apple cinnamon, pecan pie, blueberry, cinnamon roll, etc. ...you get the idea. The problem, I think is either the entire unit being plastic or the paint they say is on the bottom. I read the directions 3 times, filled water to the max, put oil drops in, put unit on table on top of ceramic plate, plugged it in and turned it on intermittently. After 3-4 min., I smelled something strange. Thought it was the scent. The oil was coming out the middle where the basin & the cover meet and the plate was soaked. I unplug unit from the back and go dump the water & notice pieces of the bottom of the unit are coming out in the sink. It was melting in those few minutes it was on. Could've started a fire if I didn't notice that weird scent. I looked up Pilgrim's number on directions...nothing. They're based in Hong Kong. Weird...Pilgrim in Hong Kong? That's like the Emperor in Wyoming. Yeah, I know...Pilgrim actually means "one who travels or wanders." Well, if my house burned down, my family would do a lot of wandering. 😏 Anyway, went to their website...nothing. Went to Facebook...only can email so emailed them asking for full refund and waiting to hear back. My advice...use it or take it with a grain of salt...don't purchase this unless you want your house to burn down.
