Advertising is a bit deceptive and many reviewers are responding to it. The advertising says they are 20 inches in diameter. When you take it from the package it appears much smaller. The seller and/or manufacturer should include information on how to acheive the 20 inch diameter. You have to wet it and stretch it and then allow it to dry flat. It will want to snap back to a smaller size but if you add a little corn starch to the water it should hold its shape after the stretch. The only reason I know this is because my mother used to starch and stretch her doilies when I was young. Try it!

These were used on a round coffee table and two end tables. They protect the wood against scratches from table lamps, plants and candle stands. They are particularly nice for dark wood. I am not sure that I would use them on light wood or very modern styles. They come in a variety of sizes and can be purchased individually so I have one larger sized and two medium.

I bought these to place on two vintage tables that have lamps on them. I vacillated between white and the off white and I’m happy I chose the off white. They add to the period look I was trying to create. Good quality, perfect size (I was a little unsure but I’m glad I went with the 20”) and great price. I’m pleased with the purchase.
