Q: How does the king jack work under a metal rv cover?

I’ve don’t have a metal cover on my rv but imagine that it won’t work if tv wave length signals can’t penetrate the cover.

Q: Does unit work well without mast and crank?

It is designed to attach directly to the roof. I'm not sure how anyone could mount it to a crank up mast. In my opinion it works as well as the old bat wing style antenna.
