It won't do that. Fountain won't drown out the chirp of a cricket. Sorry. This fountain is wonderful. Makes a beautiful water trailing sound. You need to turn on a radio or invest in noise cancelling head phones.

Yes you could do that,, I would drill a large hole so the water would flow freely
