Wonderart Latch-Hook Kit, Butterfly, 8" X 8"

The media could not be loaded.  This is a great introductory Latch Hook kit. I hadn't done latch hooking since I was a kid, and this was a great introduction (or re-introduction). It's a very high quality set, with everything that you need except for the actual hook.It has the colors printed onto the canvas, but they aren't very good for a couple of reasons. First, the printing stretches over one more line than it needs to, and so if you go by the printing, you'll get an exaggerated picture, but if you go by the chart, then you'll have extra colors coming out of the pattern.In my video review, I show the puppy set, but all of these sets are very similar in quality except for the designs.The dimensions are 8" x 8", which means 26 latches by 26 latches. That means 3.25 latches per inch. The yarn is the standard latch hook size of 2.5 inches per yarn. There were 10 different colors in my puppy design, but I think all of these beginner designs have about 10 colors.I recommend this as a basic set. The finished design is big enough that you can make it into a small pillow or a small bag.Pros:+Contains high quality Caron yarn+Fun designs+Easy, good starter kit+Has a printed guide for what goes whereCons:-The colors and the printing on the paper aren't very good. Use the guide instead.

The joy of latch hook,  paint-by-number , potholders  and  needlepoint  is that "what you see is what you get." These are not interpretive projects; you generally follow someone else's creative design.A latch hook kit is a great way for getting young kids interested in arts and crafts. These projects help them develop hand-eye coordination, fine-motor and dexterity skills and patience. Many of the designs, like this peace sign, are hip enough to hold their shifting interests to become something they will actually use and enjoy.I liked this size, too, because it's big enough to be worth their while without being so big as to be daunting. It's a great starter size.My 10-year old daughter enjoyed working this kit. It took her a couple of months to complete, but she stuck with it to produce a handmade keepsake pillow.

This does not come with a hook. The pattern is not printed on the canvas at all. In addition, the canvas is poor quality. We had a hook at home from another kit and it was really hard to hook anything on this canvas. I admit I did not read the listing as closely as I should have but I have never bought a latch hook kit that didn’t come with the hook and the pattern printed. Because of all these things my son couldn’t do the kit. I’m bummed because I love the soccer pattern.

I am in the middle of creating this but it doesn't come with the diagram on the carpet so you do need to figure out what color and where. I didn't realize that so it will take me longer to draw the pattern myself. But the colors are great. Just FYI

Made as a gift for my niece! Easy to do, fun and relaxing!

Perfect for a beginner or child as there are very few colors and an easy pattern to read. I should have looked at the size because when made up it was very small but that was my error.

For a 13 year old she loved it

Had fun completing after I got a hook-I want another to work on.
