THIS is truly the world's best cat litter.
I have been on a search for the last many weeks for a litter that a) must be dust free b) must not scatter or track c) must be hard clumping d) must be lightweight and I have found all of these things to "perfection" in this cat litter. I am taking the time to write this review for other cat owners who are tired of the claims by cat litter manufacturers that just aren't true. I am honestly shocked that this litter is as good as it is. I have four cats. They all use the same ONE litter box which is a large black concrete mixing tub which you can buy at your big box store. A litter box for each cat and one extra is just a ridiculous notion and completely unnecessary. They have access to the litter box through a cat door in my laundry room to the garage where they enter into a "cabinet" that was specially built to contain the litter box. It is enclosed with a lid that opens for cleaning and another cat door gives them access to my garage where they have scratchers and toys. So they are very lucky cats and I expected, when I had this built, to be a very lucky homeowner with no mess from cat litter when I moved into my current house. NOT TRUE! Instead, to varying degrees, there has been cat litter spewn/scattered all over my garage, all over the cat box cabinet, and to my horror carried into the laundry room, throughout the bathroom, the bedroom, the kitchen, sunroom, and even onto their bedding in their cat beds in the living room. The worst of them all was the most recent, the Boxie Cat lightweight litter. I have used Fresh Step with a strong perfumey scent, World's Best Cat litter which breaks down into a fine powder with traffic that coats my long-haired cat's legs. He walked into the house one day and his black legs were orange. I will add here that I clean and scoop my cat litter box every day twice a day and maintain several inches in the bottom of the box at all times. One of the litters I tried produced such a huge cloud of dust that it coated my nostrils and that wasn't just filling the box that was every time I scooped. The dust has covered the litter box cabinet inside and out and the shelves above in my garage. Someone recommended a litter mat. Sure, then I have something else to clean. I do have a small flat rug right inside the first cat door next to the cat litter box for any messes or mishaps that can be thrown into the washer. This litter clumps into a hard tight ball. It does not break apart. You can scoop under it, toss it up in the air, it will not break. This has not yet stuck to the bottom or sides of the litter box in a gluey, stickey, gummy mess. In a week's time there have been about 6 or 7 pellets of cat litter on the rug outside the box. I have yet to sweep up one pellet in the laundry room or garage on either side of the cat box not to mention the rest of the house. This litter is dust "free." Not 99% dust free, but 100% dust free. You can pour it from as high as you want, it's not going to make a cloud of dust, not even a whisper of dust. It's lightweight, so easy to dispose of, and for those that want to, this litter is flushable or can even be composted for use in your yard because it is plant-based. So how did the cats like it? There hasn't been one complaint yet. I hear them enter in and out through the cat door flap and I smile knowing there's no litter being tracked in with them. I detect no foul order whatsoever, yet it has a very light pleasant earthy scent some have described as coconut. I would agree. The first bag I bought of this had the activated charcoal added. Subsequent bags did not. I saved $5 per bag. I mixed the two to see how they would perform. Which brings us to cost. This is expensive cat litter. If cost is a factor you should still buy this cat litter because it's going to save you money by using less/wasting less and the time and money it costs to buy tracking mats, vacuuming your house and doing laundry. It's worth it to me for the peace of mind that my house is clean and odor-free my cats are clean and healthy.

Great litter for 1-2 cat family!
This Tofu cat litter is fabulous for a single or double indoor cat household, but is inefficient and not economical for a home with more indoor kitties than that.Pros: Very lightweight, zero dust, great odor control, compact bag, minimal trackingCons: Difficult to sift with the typical scoop and a 5 pound bag doesn't even cover the bottom of a large litter boxWe have four large cats that require an extra large litter box so the single bag of litter was just enough to provide a thin layer over the top of the regular cat litter. It would take at least 3-4 bags to provide the initial depth necessary to use alone. The cats all had no objection to using the new litter, but one refused to dig in the litter and instead did all her business on top of the litter and would not cover it. Liquid waste was quickly absorbed and easily scooped, although sifting the stick-like pieces was difficult and time-consuming. Litter pieces vary from 1/2" to 1-1/4" in length. Solid waste was also easy to scoop but with the same sifting challenge. Odor was extremely well controlled and there was absolutely no dust.Overall, I highly recommend this litter if you own just one or two indoor cats; otherwise, the cost becomes exorbitant. It is a great litter for dust and odor control and performs exactly as advertised. The bag is surprisingly compact compared to other brand litters of similar weight (8" x 10" x 3" ) and very easy for an older person like myself to handle.

Cats seem to like it, very low dust
My cats don't track this very much and the dust is very low. It's lighter than the clay based litters and easy to sift. It's not always in stock so I just get it while I can.

Makes having a cat much easier!
I've tried a lot of flushable litter and this is by far the best. Unfortunately it's a little pricey so I may have to settle for litter that I like less during these lean times! Super easy to flush, no odor, very little dust and I'm not dealing with little mounds of litter around the kitty loo!

Still Not The Perfect Litter, But......
For a long time, I have been using Worlds Best Cat Litter. But it isn't. For one thing, I have a long haired cat, and she spreads the hard corn cob nuggets all over, and I step on them in my bare feet. It hurts. The Tofu litter is softer, and it doesn't tend to spread all over. That's the good part. The bad part is it doesn't have the odor control. The fresh stuff kinda smells like coconut, which is pleasant, but after she defecates in it the smell changes to something that is odd, to say the least. As far as clumping ability, which seems to be a thing with some people, Yes, it's softer, but I couldn't care less about that. So I guess I will have to keep searching for the perfect litter. Sigh.
