Dogus Exclusive Turkish Black Tea Series (Karadeniz Tiryaki (Addicted) Tea 16.9 Oz / 500 Gr , Single Pack )

This is a good Turkish tea. It is more to my taste than Altinbas, which I bought at the same time. This, however, is not a world-class tea. When making this tea, the directions assume a cay demlik. I did it once, and switched to a regular tea pot and a strainer for brewing tea. I use 20 grams tea for 1500 ml boiling water. Steep tea for 20 minutes. Note that many teas become bitter after about 5 minutes steeping. More like pu-erh teas, this one does not seem to get bitter. The tea itself is finely chopped and bears not evidence of full or even large parts of leaves. All the great teas I have tasted have been leaf-tea, often with a bud and two leaves. Many fine teas are also distinguished by the time of year the leaves were picked and the year of harvest; these can make a difference. Most of the fine leaf teas encourage multiple steepings of the leaves, I have learned to expect at least two good brews, often three, sometimes more before the tea becomes insipid. This tea can be steeped once. Then it is time to discard it.The flavor of this tea is pleasant to my taste. Not too brisk. The mouth feel is not very robust. The fragrance is distinctive, pleasant, and faint to my nose.

Pleasent to drink very smooth Turkish tea. One of the best black tea's I have ever drank and I am quite a connoisseur when it comes to teas as an avid tea aficionado well over 50 years plus and ongoing.., Buy it w/o hesitation.
