I never said before that I want to be like somebody else because I always acknowledge that I am the best version of myself and nobody else can replicate me, as me. But I have somewhat a personal vision of what I want to achieve in the entrepreneurial side of life, and Lori achieved and actually living that exact vision that I envisioned myself achieving in business in the not-so-distant future. I admire her business-savvy, her wit, and her intelligence. Her story, as told in this book, gives me motivation to go after my entrepreneurial dreams, and that I can achieve them if I work towards it, now, rather than later. No-doubt it was a huge leap-of-faith when she get started with her first product but her determination, persistence, and strong belief in herself made everything possible, and she achieved great things in business. This book is a gold-mine of information and inspirations. There is really no need to figure it out ourselves anymore, like its never done before, the path to her success has been spilled generously in this book, down to the numbers of how much it will cost to do this and that. All the unknowns and questions lingering in our minds that we simply cannot easily find answers to by browsing and searching online or spending hours in libraries unless someone, like Lori, have done and been doing in real life give you those answers basing on true-life experiences. The information shared in this book are based on years of actual experiences that she been through, so it would be hard or close to impossible to find a better book than this. If you have product ideas that you want to see realize for sale on supermarket and department store shelves, this book contains common questions that many of us may ask, that very few people actually have the true answers (basing on real life experiences).Hopefully in the not-so-distant future I will have the chance to present some of my product ideas to her as I have strong beliefs that these ideas are heroes, not zeros :-)

Love Lori but wanted to love the book more
I bought this book for one reason and one reason only for a clue of how to get on QVC or HSN. We are already an experienced company with lots of sales on other channels but cannot get into QVC where our products would do well. Like Lori my primary job is to create and patent new products which I love doing. So the book had lots of great advice EXCEPT how to get on QVC or HSN. That page was like 1 page with very little details. There was also to much story telling and not enough actionable advice. Other than that I liked it. I looked forward to this book for months and so my expectations where high maybe thats why I was a little disappointed. In my family I come from a long line of strong women. I love strong women. My wife is beautiful and very strong willed and frankly intimidated every guy who dated her. Her family always teased her that one day she would marry a "computer nerd" because she always wore the pants. They were surprised when she married me because I am probably even more strong willed and confident and a mans man. I love her so much and she is very happy in a relationship of equals. I have learned for these strong women to be happy in life there also needs to be strong MEN in their lives who adore them. As a result we have strong kids as well especially my oldest daughter. Let me just say she was a baby from HELL but so fun to be around now. When she was 3 I took her to the park to play. There was a tall slide that the kids where playing on. I sat by myself where I could watch her. She got up on the slide to go down and this older boy behind her did not just push but full on kicked her in the back down the slide. She tumbled over and over all the way down. The boys WT parents watched the whole thing but they could not see me and said nothing. I was expecting her to sit down and cry and I started to get up but she didnt. She picked herself up out of the dirt looked at the boy who came down the slide after her and looked at all the parents who were watching her and walked off. As she approached the boy from behind who had kicked her down the slide she looked around to make sure no one was watching her and the then she full on elbowed him in the back of the head and dropped him like a sandbag then humming to herself went down the slide again. I never condone violence but a slow smile crept across my face. She showed intelligence, reserve and the girl could take care of herself. She reminds me a lot of Lori who is a strong woman and a good role model. If she ever wants to do her own business I think my daughters would be good at it to. I was going to sell the book after reading it but now I think I will keep in my library and who knows maybe one day one of my girls will pick it up and read it :) I was going to rate it 3 stars but because of this I will rate it 4.

Sometimes you just need the push!
The book itself is well bound and easy to read. The anecdotal examples of what she did and regrets of things really humanized the experience. I knew who she was on Shark Tank but not what she had invented. If you take notes she really lays the step by step out for someone just on the verge of taking the steps from an idea to a marketable product. Also I love the repetition of the growth mindset.

Newsflash: Inventing products is a lot of Work!
What I learned from this book... how one person saw a need, developed a product to fit that need, got it built, got it sold, and got it in the hands of millions of consumers. What I learned is it's a lot of HARD WORK. It's a HUSTLE. Kudos to Lori for sharing some insight into her path and providing an example for others to follow. It is a quick read that gives a great overview of Lori's thought processes and highlights the problems she dealt with in bringing her first products to market, and building her brand. I felt the level of detail was sufficient enough, there are plenty of technical manuals out there if you want to learn more about patents or need to learn more about injection molding. While this may not give you the complete playbook of how to go from Zero to Millionaire, face it, no book will do that. I'm amused by the 3 star reviewers that think this book doesn't explain enough detail. Look at all the books on this topic, then read all of them. No book will teach you how to get six pack abs, find the love you deserve, and become a millionaire, all from your couch. Get out, hustle, work, read, work some more, read, learn, work, read, learn, hustle.
