Cool Therapy Natural Pain Relieving Gel 8 oz

I have been using Sombra Warm for a few months since my acupuncturist introduced me to it. I have herniated lumbar disks and developed a wicked case of persistent sciatica this summer after several days of inactivity following shoulder surgery; it's going on 5 months now with no apparent end in sight. I like the Warm, it's great for distracting me from the sciatic nerve pain in my lower leg and for loosening sore shoulder and neck muscles after rough post-surgical physical therapy sessions. However, I thought the Cool might be more appropriate for lumbar/sciatic inflammation since icing is my only effective pain relieving method for the lumbar area. So I ordered the 8 oz Cool and I tried it for the first time tonight. It burned like crazy upon application but now, I literally have the chills - climb in bed with a heated blanket type chills. It definitely has an intense cooling sensation. As for its effect on inflammation, I cannot comment on that as of yet. I do like the Sombra products overall but particularly for their scent - Biofreeze, Mineral Ice, Icy Hot, Salon Pas - they all stink really bad and I can't wear them to work or in public. Sombra is quite pleasant and the Cool smells really, really good. I should add that I ordered the 8 ounce versus the 32 ounce because I read comments about the necessity of watering down the product to dispense from the pump bottle, leading to reduced sensation/effect. I use the 32 ounce Warm and it burns quite a bit as it is, I cannot imagine it being even more intense. Combine the Sombra Warm with hot weather and/or sweat and it feels like you've put your skin directly on a skillet. I don't think the Cool version would do very well in a watered down form so even though it is more cost effective to buy the 32 ounce bottle, I'm sticking with the 8 ounce Cool for its full chilling effect. I would absolutely recommend Sombra Warm or Cool and wish I had opted to try the Cool months ago for the hot California summer months.

When my back was injured, my chiropractor used this as part of the treatment. Super soothing. Can purchase either the warm rub or cold rub. Be careful because the warm rub can become super hot based on the amount used.

The stuff is great! Both my husband and I use it on our lower backs to relieve pain. The cooling sensation lasts a long time as well. I found out about it from my chiropractor, who used it on my back… I had to have it then!

I suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, Stickler's Syndrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis & a few other ailments that are side effects from the ones I just listed. I use Icy Hot on a daily basis but I hate the smell and I am always looking for something that works as good or better and does not have that smell (like ben gay or icy hot).Sombra does have menthol in it but it also has lemon & grapefruit peels as an ingredient so it has a strong citrus & lemon smell that to me is a more pleasant alternative. This product gives a cool therapy that is relieving to my aches and pains. I am pleased with this purchase. It was a great relief to find it worked just as well as my icy hot since so many products out there state they do more than they actually do and you end up walking away feeling ripped off. This is not the case with Sombra and I have already recommended this to others. I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a product that works like ben gay or icy hot but without the overpowering scent. It does have a strong lemon/citrus scent so do not think this will not smell at all but I would rather smell like lemons or grapefruit any day then smell like ben gay or icy hot.
