Beautiful book, stunningly illustrated - my children love it! Wonderful way to engage even young children in poetry.

I bought this for my grandson in the USA, not realising the weight of this amazing book. So kept it and ordered another on a US website to be sent directly to him. It is a real joy to read a new poem everyday, some I knew but most I discover with delight. Some are poignant, some are funny, some are simple, some are complex but all are well observed portraits of nature. The illustrations are stunning and form a remarkable support for the poesy. The language is sometimes complex for a 6 year old but with the support of the drawings he lets his imagination create his own version of each poem. I'm so glad I found this book

I bought this book as a birthday gift for my 4 year old granddaughter and she loves it! I bought her 'I Am The Seed That Grew The Tree' last year which she still enjoys and I saw that this book was by the same author.It's a big book and quite heavy to hold but it is full of marvellous poems, some old and some new. It is illustrated beautifully throughout.It's a brilliant book!
