It tastes and smells Lavazza
The flavour is beautiful. The roast is rightly dark, but not too dark. It is perfect. It has been decades since I drank Qualita Oro. So I cannot compare this one to Qualita Oro which is Ethiopean if I remember right. That would cost you Rs. 7,200 a kilo. Qualita Rosa would cost about half of that. At 800 a kilo, Gusto Crema is a bargain. India is an important coffee grower. I have bought Chikmangloor grown Plantation and Peaberry beans from a local reseller. I have bought Classic coffee beans, Rage, Vero which stopped the Indian production of beans. For a lot of years I had to find a balance between flavour and the cost which Vero had offered. After that stopped I was on the lookout for an alternative. And of course, for the price, I just could not ignore Lavazza Gusto Crema. The cost actually made me wonder (it's so cheap) whether I should take the risk. But I could rest assured with the Lavazza name. For Rs. 800 a kilo, it is really cheap. But rest assured, the quality is international. If you enjoy real coffee, if you can appreciate a coffee from a gourmet coffee shop like CCD, Barista, Starbucks etc., then this coffee is for you. Please don't buy it if you like coffee with strong chicory flavour. Don't buy this coffee if you are the one who adds a tinge of Nescafe to a glass of milk and lots of sugar. If you are an instant-coffee lover, this definitely isn't for you. If you like your beans over-roasted so that they almost smell like dried fish or prawns, this isn't your coffee. But if you have never tasted the real coffee or find it too expensive, this definitely is worth a try. It is real coffee at a bargain price. I can understand why Vero (I loved their coffee by the way) had to shut down the Indian manufacture. I can give 100% guarantee for this Lavazza Gusto Crema.

Great quality when compared to price
Overall 4/5: Great quality productFreshness: 5/5 as roast date was just a week before purchase date and had fresh & intense aromaBitterness: 3.5/5 found more bitter due to robusta but better than most indian brands i have tried.Acidity: 3/5 found it to be more acidic due to robustaRoast: 5/5 very well evenly roastedImportant Note: The coffee beans quality is completely different what is being sold in the American market. In America they use high quality Arabica beans (bean size is 50-60% bigger than what is being sold in India). Reason: to keep the price low in Indian market.Hence Indian packet is more acidic, bitter and a bit less in aroma. But overall it is still better than most Indian coffee brands in the Indian market that I have used so far.

Excellent Taste
I used to drink instant coffee every day, but I decided to try brewing coffee with fresh beans. I picked this product to start with, and I’m really glad I did. After trying I noticed how much better it tasted. The aroma is rich and roasted, with a slight hint of chocolate that makes t special.I usually brew my coffee using a South Indian filter or a moka pot, and these beans work great with both. The coffee comes out smooth, aromatic, and full of flavor. After trying this, it’s hard to go back to instant coffee. If you’re thinking about trying fresh coffee beans, this is a good choice to start with.

The coffee was packaged in dec 2024, it's quite fresh and has great taste and aroma. I brew it with my mokapot. Does the job.

For Mild Coffee - Read Before Buying
Rating: 3/5 for wrong product description versus actual product and mild taste. While the coffee product description and title says 'Medium Dark' roast, it is more dark roast since you cansee how shiny the coffee bean is. Medium roasted coffee beans dont shine if at all.Pros:1. Has a lingering taste of coffee despite not having a strong taste which is satisfying for some except those who are used to strong coffee flavors2. Due to mild nature, it does not cause fatigue or cause too strong insomnia issues like other dark coffee variants (for people with insomnia or insomnia symptoms)3. My coffee beans were uniformly roasted (cant really speak in general but other reviews indicate the same)4. Coffee bean had a rich aroma, just a one and a quarter teaspoonful grinded and put in hot water and the fragrance emanated throughout the house. Definitely a good sign of richness and freshness5. When considering darker side roasting, the seeds I got had a good amount of shine and the oils were very visible in the coffee surface. Very satisfying and lingers with the exact taste for a bit after drinking unlike extreme local varieties which tend to have the bitterness aftertaste for a long while which I strictly stay away fromCons:1. Was more towards dark instead of medium roast (I ordered since I wanted it like in the product picture which is proper medium roast)2. Taste was a bit milder than I thought. I will try it with a bit more finer grind (have yet to test with french press to see added flavor from pressurized coffee decoction) and update the review

Quality went downhill
I’ve been buying this coffee from the same seller for over two years, but in the last six months, the quality has gone downhill. I kept hoping it was just a bad batch, took breaks, and tried again—but every time, it’s the same awful experience. The beans are low quality, there’s no real aroma, and the taste? It’s like a washed-out sock—weak, stale, and completely missing the rich flavor Lavazza used to have. I feel like I’ve wasted my money hoping it would get better, but this was my last purchase. If you used to love this coffee, be warned—it’s not the same anymore. I’m switching to another brand.

A very good coffee.
Very good aroma..though a little light in strength. Blending it with a little chicory gave us a very satisfying coffee.
