I find I sleep much better these days, since starting Valerian Root. While I still wake up ever 2-4 hours throughout the night, I find that in conjunction with a quality Magnesium Complex I sleep much more deeply during those hours and find I achieve that necessary REM state I have been missing. The side affect that I have seen reported and have experienced is very vivid dreams, which I attribute mostly to that deeper better quality sleep.

The media could not be loaded. So I didnt know that valerian root affects cats in a similar way to catnip until I opened this bottle and all 5 of my cats started going crazy. After I took my first dose, the kitties were all up in my face trying to smell my breath. Since then, I ordered some valerian root tea and they dont react to that nearly as much. So I already know this extract is strong.Im not taking this for sleep, but instead for nerve sensitivity and chronic pain from fibromyalgia. I was taking pregabalin but I had to stop because it was causing me severe migraines and visual distortions, so I've been looking for natural alternatives. I've been taking the max suggested dose on the bottle 3 times a day for about 2 weeks, and it is already doing better than my prescription meds were (Though I am also taking a skullcap extract). Keep in mind, it does take a little while to build up in your system. However, I felt some effects from the first dose. I haven't had any negative side effects. I dilute my doses in water and I havent noticed any taste and the extract is completely clear. There is a slight smell, which is expected because valerian root smells like stinky feet. But I am very sensitive to smells, and it isnt strong enough to cause me any problems with drinking it. There are enough doses in one bottle to last me a good while. I will be setting up a monthly amazon shipment for this, and I %100 recommend.

Great product! I've been struggling with sleep issues for YEARS and I'm so glad I tried this. I am so restless when I sleep that I toss and turn for hours on end, and this has definitely helped relieve it more than anything else Ive tried (and Ive tried just about everything). I do want to say the smell is off putting, but power through as the taste is tolerable. It's potent, I do feel groggy the next morning but it's worth getting sleep as i can go a week or more getting only 3 hours per night or less of sleep and it really affects my health. I'm hoping I will acclimate more over time and the groggy feeling may subside. Definitely worth trying if you have restless sleep, I am happy I did and will repurchase. Here's hoping it will continue to work.

This stuff smells horrible, no question. But it also works.I've suffered severe insomnia my entire adult life. I was taking an anti-depressant that did improve my sleep, but it also raised my heart rate and blood pressure so I had to stop taking it.I use about 20-30 drops of this in a very small amount of water. It actually has a sweet taste, but the smell is horrible. You can hold your breath while you swallow and it's just a moment of that first deep breath after you swallow where it's worst. I also take melatonin, so I just pop a strawberry melatnonin gummie right after I take the valerian and it's totally manageable.This will take a couple of weeks to really work, but I'm sleeping better than when I was taking prescription medication. The quality of my sleep is improved and I wake up less.It does take getting used to, but for me, it's totally worth it. Given it's relatively inexpensive, I suggest giving this a try if you really struggle.

Tastes good and works to quiet my nerves. Great for helping me get to sleep.

It might help with sleep and nerves but Mylanta is smells like rotten cheese that was cultivated in someone's crack.I had the bottle in my bedroom on the desk and kept smelling something awful that was making me gag.The kids came in and said they smelled it too and my husband who can't smell much was sniffing around trying to find the offensive source. This plagued me for 3 days... I frantically looked behind furniture, in corners and kept asking my sons to smell their feet and go wash their backsides. I took the blankets out of my room because I couldn't get the stench out of my nose and everything seemed to smell of a rancid bowel juice aroma. Tonight I realized as I was sitting at my desk that the bottle of MR Valerian was an arm's length away from me and even though the lid has been *ON* tight, that the horrific stench was coming from this closed (new!) bottle. I really can't describe it.. if you cooked hotdogs and then let the hotdog water sit for a week or two, and then gave some old, backed up sot an enema with the "aged" hotdog water... whatever came out of that borthole next is how this bottle smells.You think I'm maybe exaggerating but I am not. It makes me gag sitting at the desk with the lid on! How is that possible?For my money, even though I love MR products, I'll find a pill and skip the liquid Valerian.

Relative to other valerian products I’ve used, this seemed weak. I needed about 5-6 dropper fulls to equal one dropper of a higher potency product. The flavor was sweet, so it seems they made this to be tasty rather than bitter, which may be diametrically opposed to potency.I ended up foregoing the dropper and just pouring a bunch in my mouth and letting it sit under my tongue for a minute before swallowing. Needless to say it didn’t last long.

I love this Valerian Root Product, that’s why I keep purchasing it!
