Legacy (Montgomery Brothers Series) Paperback – July 19, 2020

This was a new to me author and first book I've read by her and I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more.Legacy is a well written grumpy/sunshine contemporary romance with a broody billionaire MMC who loves his family and a hardworking FMC who holds her own despite the shitty hand fate has given her.Harley gets the opportunity of a lifetime when she manages to successfully land an interview and convince by proposing a business plan to Ford and his brothers where she got to rent a prime location for her dream bakery in Montgomery Media's building.While Ford and Harley get off at a rough start as polar opposites, they can't help the attraction and the chemistry they share.After they finally give their relationship a chance and things seem to be going good, life throws them a few twists that test their courage and love.This story was well paced and didn't feel dragged out and kept me engaged. It was filled with family drama, past trauma, flirty banter, hilarious side characters, antagonists that you hate cause they're so evil, and of course romance and a touch of spice.Would highly recommend and will be reading the next book!

Story line was cute, held my interest and the characters were fun! It was tame compared to what I’m used to, it was missing the spicy 🌶 side of the story.

This is a great story, with lots of interesting characters and plot twists. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. It was a fun read.

I do love me some Laura books. I love her style and her characters and storylines. She is amazing with it all.

This was a a good story overall, but the constant use of past tense verbs when things or feelings were being discussed was so distracting and disorienting as a reader. No idea why she did that. I don’t remember seeing this issue in her other books. I just hope the other 2 in this series aren’t like this.The story and characters were good, and the sexy parts were kept short and sweet. Just need the author to figure out her tenses!

Harley is a 23 year old woman with dreams of owning her own bakery. She was given the opportunity to apply for the open space in the Montgomery building. When she came to interview she met with the 3 Montgomery brothers. The oldest, Ford was very grumpy. His other brothers were open and basically comforting. Harley brought samples of her baked goods and Ford actually stated he doesn't eat sugary foods. The other brothers loved everything she brought in. So it was voted 2 against 1. Harley was in.Just finishing up and getting ready for her opening, Ford came down to let her know that he missed the coffee from the last place that was there and wanted to try hers. And he loved it. But every time Ford came in it was like he enjoyed arguing with her. Then things start to change. Harley is actually looking forward to their morning routine.Harley comes from an extremely hard upbringing. Her mom was a drug addict who prostitutes herself for a fix. Her grandparents took her in when she was 13 and tried to keep her mom away from her. She never met her father. All she knows is that he's rich and wants nothing to do with her.Now that things are actually going well, Harley is waiting for all to fail.Wow, Harley is such a strong young woman. Ford is really surprised when he starts getting feelings for this young woman. He doesn't do relationships. Harley isn't even his type.Wait until things really heat up between these two. The brothers are always there too. Always supporting Harley.Such an incredible story! Lots of family issues. Must read more. Ready for Book 2. Enjoy

In ‘Legacy’ we meet Ford and Harley. Ford is the oldest Montgomery brother, and the one that runs Montgomery Media a very successful media company. Ford is not looking for a woman for more than one night. He works hard, is very driven and doesn’t have time for distractions. And he definitely doesn’t trust people easily. So when he meets Harley, a hardworking woman who seems to work just as hard as him he finds himself fascinated by her. Harley is the one woman who doesn’t take his crap. And although she is attracted to him, she definitely isn’t the kind of girl looking for a one night stand.I really enjoyed reading ‘Legacy’ right from the start. Harley’s character is definitely one I loved right away. She is hardworking, determined to make the best out of her life. And best of all, she really doesn’t take crap from anybody. Especially not from a guy that acts like Ford. I loved how she stood up to Ford, even though most people didn’t. And she definitely made him work for it.But I also really loved Ford’s character. There was a lot more to him than I expected at first. I loved how we got to read this story from both his point of view and Harley’s. It made the romance even more entertaining and fun. The chemistry between them was definitely flying of the pages and I couldn’t put this book down.The one little issue that I had with this book was how it just seemed a bit odd for me that Ford changed his mind so ‘easily’ about being with Harley. But that has more to do with me having trust issues myself I guess. It didn’t bother me all that much and I read this one in a day.‘Legacy’ was a very fun read and I can’t wait to read the second book in the series as well.

Harley hasn’t had an easy life and Ford was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Ford has met his match with Harley though. She’s smart, witty, sarcastic and she can totally hold her own with him. They drive each other crazy but the sparks fly with them. I love the banter in this book. There is a lot of depth to the characters. You will be rooting for Harley right from the start. Loved this one

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it was absolutely fatalistic. This is the first book in the Montgomery Brothers Series and I can not wait to read the next in line, the next brother. This book will make you laugh and I really enjoyed reading it.Harley is a real firecracker and has an awesome personality she is so sassy and she wont let anyone talk down o her and she really sticks up for herself. She is confident, strong minded and beautiful but she also has her own family problems too. She is living her dream finally and has opened up her very own bakery but the thing is she also has investors in Ford and his brothers.Ford is the CEO of the company and he is very set in his way and doesn't really like change in his life. He does have a lot of pressure on his shoulders. He has been through a lot himself and this has put him of relationships after being hurt badly.I cant believe that this is the first book that I have read by this author and it defiantly wont be the last. This story flows beautifully and the characters were awesome. They both have an awesome amount of chemistry and the way that Ford was protective I loved because ta first I thought he was a total jerk but he completely changed my mind and I loved him. This author really knows how to bring them to life to the reader and I couldn't get enough of them all and they were very relatable. Harley and the brothers. This book has it all the romance, the love the banter was awesome and really made me laugh. I read this book in one sitting as I couldn't put it down I was totally hooked from the beginning and I really cant wait to read the next book in this series because this book is a must read.

Lust, love, suspense and drama - This book has all the feels, a great easy to read novel that you won’t want to put down.

I love books with strong, sassy heroines, and Harley was great example. Add in the stick-up-his-ass hero, Ford, you have a perfect combo. The banter between these two was on point. While there were intimate scenes, they were not too in depth. Along with the romance, there is also some intriguing family drama that kept me turning pages. Great read!

My overall rating is 4.5 stars, why the half star off? Well that would be Ford’s lifestyle in the beginning, I don’t enjoy reading about that, and honestly, if I hadn’t loved the interactions between Harley and Ford and seen the potential, not to mention Laura’s phenomenal writing talents, I probably would have written him off after a few chapters. Thankfully, I didn’t!I adored Harrison, Jack and Molly but for me Harley stole the show. Wearing chucks, giving snark and killing it at baking, she is my idol! Living the life she has, it’s amazing to see how far she’s come with the loving support of her Grandfather. When Ford finally realises what he’s missing out on, going and getting his girl (literally, he carries her away, throwing her over his shoulder) the pair are explosive. Ford is a hot as sin protective alpha goodness, I fell in love with. A good son, brother and businessman, Ford has it all with Harley by his side.I loved this family, this story with its twists and turns you won’t see coming, it’s a fantastic read, one I highly recommend.
