I Thought Chuck was Frozen but it Wasn’t
At first, I thought the chuck was broken. It was solidly frozen in the fully open position. No amount of hand cranking would free it. I purchased another sample from HD, and it was exactly the same. So I watched a few videos on YouTube that provided a method for freeing up the chuck. I put the drill in first gear in the drill position, put the drill in the clockwise direction, and wrapped the chuck in a towel to save the skin on my hand. After a couple of blips on the trigger, the chuck rotated freely. I don’t know why Makita ships this drill with the chuck completely frozen open. The good news is that the chuck has no visible runout and seems to solidly grip the bits. The other good news is that I have other Makita tools that use the same battery and charger so I saved some money buying the tool only.

Taladro
100% recomendable.”

Makita at their best
Lasted longer than my neighbor's DeWalt, and still driving anything into anything. If I could use it as a saw it would be the only power tool I need.

Fantastic Drill, Lots of Torque
This drill performs excellent. It takes on tough jobs with ease. I have a few lower on the Makita line that I also like but this one is absolutely excellent. Will drive 4" decking screws and 3/8"x5" lag bolts without even slowing down.Well worth the little extra money.

A good price battery drill
I bought this drill mainly because the price was good and I already had 2 3AH 18vdc batteries. Unfortunately when I tried to recharge one of batteries it won't accept the charge. This is a Makita battery and so I didn't expect this. I have other marital drills and they are good. This drill feels good and I expect it to perform well when I use it. I will update my review later.

Awesome drill
This is a good quality tool. Tons of torque and speed.Very recommended. It is heavier than the smaller ones but that is to be expected. Good for drilling small holes for concrete anchors.Great price, I bought 2.

USED, BROKEN, UNPROTECTED
The media could not be loaded. It arrived broken and appears to be used. It was naked in the shipping box, accompanied by a loose screw, a grip (still in its plastic sleeve), and the WRONG OWNER'S MANUAL (for an impact driver!). There was NO manufacture's packaging, no bubble wrap, and, not surprisingly, the shipping box was damaged where the thing obviously punched a hole in the end. It makes a horrible clanking when turning on and off, and the jaws on the chuck move in and out, possibly because the chuck doesn't stay tight.
