Not too bad ,but after a long gap between albums I would have thought it would have been stronger . Quite middle of the road- am I really saying this about a guitar genius ? but hey look no further than Eric Clapton, master of the bland album and he is god to some people . A perfect example is the track "my baby wants a baby" just listen to Sheena Easton 9 to 5 and a slight bit of plagiarism maybe -off to the charity shop i'm afraid.

(Just one listen through so far): Annie Clark channeling somewhere 1972-ish aurally. "Strange Mercy" (so far) still her masterpiece but another strong, intriguing, exhilarating, impressive, cohesive and delightful piece.

I bought this record on the back of a listen along on Vinyl Junkies Youtube channel and I was so taken with it I ordered it immediately. The record evokes a New York in the 70s production style with modern pop twists. Every song is a gem and several are goosebump activators. There are plenty of layers to the songs which will mean repeated plays are guaranteed. St Vincent is new to me but this record has made me want to delve further into the catalog. The record itself is very well pressed, clean and silent running. It's a gatefold sleeve with a printed inner bag and fold out lyric sheet/poster. If you like intelligent indie/pop with occasional trip hop and electro flashes this is a must buy.

never paid much attention to St Vincent but the album title made me curious. best decision i made all year. fantastic album. definitely one for the grammys next year

Badly scratched on both sides. In the centre of the record it had USA amateurishly scratched out so possibly not intended for the UK market. I'm sure the album is great but this pressing was unlistenable. Being returned.

Unfortunately a bad pressing for me too. Such a shame. Have bought CD instead and arranged the return of the vinyl. Album is a grower I think.
