You've heard the expression: "The right tool for the job." That couldn't be truer when it comes to my experience with this case back opener.I tried a different tool that was clunky and difficult to maneuver and I ended up scratching my watch. The Mudder opener removed the tight screw-on back with relative ease. And I never felt like it would slip. The 2 round prongs fit the round holes on my Movado perfectly and I was able to replace the battery in short time. It's well-constructed, portable and nicely finished. I tried to open my watch with a small flathead screwdriver to only put a small scratch on the back cover with no success. Then I found this nifty simple tool and was very skeptical that it would work. This is a solid built tool that actually works! I've used this on two different size watches and it unscrews the back with very little effort. It's worth the price when a jeweler was going to charge $15.00 per watch to replace the battery.

I managed to get the backs off 2 Seiko watches to rep. battery - but it's not a simple task. It's easier with this tool but the tool itself has significant flaws. The tension/friction on the adjusting wheel is virtually non existent so you can adjust to the needed distance but it will never stay there unless you're applying tension on the wheel at the same time you're trying to rotate the back plate and hold the body of the watch. It's a frustrating endeavor. You can succeed, but by the time you do, you wish you'd just brought the watch to a jeweler and taken the hit to have them do it.

This little gadget was just what I needed to unscrew the backs of several of my watches. It was so easy to use and I was able to change the batteries on watches with different size backs without any difficulty and save the expense of going to a jewelry store.

If there was a way to lock the setting into place, but I was able to change the batter of my watch without having to take it in and spend $20-25 or however much they charge for labor and a battery. Last time I did it the batter lasted 6 months.

Works excellent! Just used it to get a watch back off that I couldn't get off via any other means!
