Book that gets kids giggling!
I purchased this book for my grandson because it's a book my kindergarten students used to love to have read to them. It's a fun light hearted book and good for giggles. It also subtly conveys that different is ok!

Fantastic for pre-schoolers, pre-readers, and parents alike
This is such a charming book: it teaches the lesson to strive to learn and not give up. The fact that the cow and the pig get laughed at and get the last laugh is not mean-spirited in the least to me - it delivers the subtle message that people who are different can get through tough times and change opinions in the process. I hope the negative review doesn't deter others one bit from reading to any child. The lesson is delivered with humor.Great to reinforce bi-lingual values, as others have said. What's more, this book delighted my young children so much, they were motivated to try to sound out the strange words with me, as the cow and pig tried to learn their new sounds. M-oink! Love it so much.

Great read aloud
Such a fun book! Great read aloud. As a teacher, Iβm always looking for engaging and thoughtful books to read to my classes. This sweet book with an important message about differences is really sweet. I love to tell my classes that the cow and pig are bilingual!

Wonderful Book! One of my Son's Favorites!!
"The Cow That Went Oink" is a wonderful children's book that helps children appreciate and even celebrate their differences while getting a good laugh. This ranks as one of my son's favorite books. The other barnyard animals laugh at the Cow because it can only say "oink" and laugh at the pig because it can only say "moo". The cow and the pig help each other learn to speak their "native languages" and in the process surpass the animals who have made fun of them.I HIGHLY recommend this book for ANY child, but especially for children who are struggling with their differences in preschool and kindergarten.

Good book
I had this book as a child and loved it so I got it my kids. They like the story but as an adult reading it, it does get a bit repetitive to say Oink and Moo so much haha

Silly but sweet
My 2-year-old daughter now insists on this book every night at bedtime, and that is a rare occurrence for her. We first checked it out from the library, and after having to renew it twice, broke down and got our own copy. She loves to hear all the silly animal sounds, and I think that's the main hook for her, but the pictures are vivid and fun, too. It's also a fun read-aloud book, which is great when you're the parent who gets to read it over and over and over... :)

Take your time and read the fine print
READ THE FINE PRINT...I DID NOT. I ordered the paperpack for ease of packing and it arrived as a LARGE book. Great book but I can't use it.
